NCO Financial Systems - Service fees complaints and reviews...FIRST CONTACT10/15/2009MY FIRST LETTER FROM NCO, SINCE THEY RECEIVED MY DEFAULTED STUDENT LOAN LOOKS LIKE THEY MAY WORK WITH ME TO FIND SUITABLE PAYBACK OPTIONS, SINCE I HAVE DEFAULTED I DONT HAVE MANY OPTIONS !! Shady dealings2/20/2008 Reading PAI received a phone call last week asking for me specifically. I inquired as to who was calling and I immediately told that the call was an attempt to collect a debt and that I knew I owed money and should not be playing games. I hung up. Since that time I have received numerous calls requesting I call NCO about a debt. These automated calls come at all hours of the day. I called NCO and learned that the "debt" was from a closed credit card account from 2002. I was asked several times if I was going to pay this debt and each time I replied that I always pay my debts but this is not one of them. If this account has an outstanding balance it was due to fraud. The NCO rep continued to try to get me to commit to paying this debt by saying, "Maybe you just forgot to pay, maybe this slipped your mind,it is really doubtful that fraud has occurred. Will you settle this account?" My response was the same, "If I owe a creditor I will pay but I don't owe this creditor (Chase). NCO has called my wife's place of employment several times requesting information. I contacted Chase and asked for copies of the charges I supposedly made and as yet I have not received them. These people try to wear you down with repeated calls, insinuations of severe consequences for failing to send them money, and obviously, a negative credit report. I believe they border on harassment and certainly lck civility. NCO Financial Systems Inc10/31/2006 Horsham PAI got a letter yesterday in the mail for an account that I didn't have with First National Bank of Marin. This company claims that they brought an account that has been closed for over three years making threats of obtaining a judgement against me. The bill was sent to me after I had moved from one address in Washington, DC to another address and was one of numerous debts that someone had taken out in my name using my name and social security card and birth date. This company brought a $300 dollar loan and raised the amount to $534.24 with a interest of $57.30 at the rated of 6.000% claiming that this was done according to accrued interest or other charges on a closed account that they brought. Please Help another NCO and Paypal mishap2/16/2005Hi all, I am in Canada and was selling merchandise on Ebay for the longest time with all positive feedbacks. To make a long story short I had 2 returns on products (approx $300 each) and I told the customers that I would refund once I received products...Well guess what I never received..they complained and now I'm out approx $600.00 and Paypal gave this to NCO. One rep called me today and was extremely rude and really couldn't care less on what I had to say. Can any of you please guide me on how I can properly rectify this problem. Thank you in advance. INTEREST, PENALTIES, NOW WHAT?12/29/2004 WATHIS SCARY COMPANY BOUGHT MY COLLECTION ACCOUNT THIS MONTH. THEY TACKED $1000 TO THE LOW BALANCE IN LESS THAN ONE MONTH!! CAN THEY REALLY DO THAT? ARE THERE ANY REGULATIONS AS TO HOW MUCH THEY CAN CHARGE FOR PENALTY OR INTEREST? I'M AFRAID THAT THEY WILL SELL THIS ACCOUNT TO SOMEONE ELSE BEFORE I CAN PAY IT OFF, AND THEN THE NEW COMPANY WILL CHARGE ANOTHER OUTRAGOUS INTEREST RATE. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM, AND IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED!! extra fees12/21/2004 FLi need some help, i've been dealing with nco for the past few months, making payments of $150/mo. my last payment for the debt owed was last month, now all i have left is the $65 of interest incurred. However, they say i owe them $109 which includes 2 late fees. When i started dealing with them they said that i would NOT be cahrged anymore late fees etc which is besides the point because I've made all my payments on time every month and i can't get anyone to talk to me. The second late fee is for Nov. 25th, thanksgiving day which i assume they were closed. Am i expected to pay up because they sent the payment late? does anybody know how i should go about sorting this out? as expected, noone at nco wants to speak to me (at least politely) percentage of settlement1/7/2004 ILNCO helped my husband collect monies owed to him. When he got the first check, he found that they took 40%. My brother in law is a collection attorney and I was under the assumption that the amount an agency takes is 33%. Is it legal for NCO to take 40%? My husband said that he didn't sign any contract with them. Has anyone else had this situation occur? From reading reviews, they don't appear to be a great organization to work with... UNPROFESSIONAL8/28/2003Sneaky, rude, cowardice, and downright dirty, should be their comkpany motto. Im not even a person on their books, they call the wrong number and no matter how many times I tell them im not who their looking for, the more they call back. I know I owe the bill..4/14/2002 The Netherlandsand I have had every intention of paying the bill. This is the situation: I live in the Netherlands and when my partner and I lived in Canada for 3 months we owe a debt to Telus for our cell phone. We ended the contact with telus and then we owed a penalty of about $300. Telus didn't send us any information on the debt until one day we got a letter from NCO Financial Services and we did make the payment in full via mastercard, but for some (international) problem it was rejected and the outstanding amount remains. Then I sent letters to NCO so that we could arrange a 'method' to pay, the problem being that we live on another continent and its really been impossible to find a method of payment.(They never responded to my letters until 4 months or so.) Money going from the Netherlands to the bill in Canada. We have asked for the ability to pay this bill via the internet since that is the common European method of paying bills. They don't have cheques or money orders here. So this is the problem: I admit this is my bill and I want to pay it as I have from the start.BUT in the meantime it seems that the amount owed has been going up..started at 300 and now it says we owe..$546. canadian. A penalty for the cell phone contract that we didn't fulfill plus interest Im assuming. Is it me or is this outrageous? Email me at piet_and_yvonne@yahoo.com Yvonne Copyright 2000-2009 My3cents, LLC |
