Give 'em your three-cents worth through consumer complaint site
PC Mike's NBC Reports -- 11/27/2001
Ever had a complaint about a product you've purchased but didn't know how to voice it or where to send it? If you're just itching to give somebody a piece of your mind, our Internet guru "PC Mike" Wendland has found a Web site just for you called… "My Three Cents."
The site is dedicated to the consumer revolution, and it does a terrific job of archiving consumer feedback about various products and services. You can search by broad subject descriptions, and then zoom in to specific products and companies.
The site calls the user feedback “reviews.” Most are complaints, though there are also some compliments here. And you can post your own review of your experience with products and services, just by clicking your mouse.
It’s all free, although like most Web sites, it would like you to register.
Probably the handiest feature after the reviews is a fill-in-the-blanks consumer complaint form letter. You personalize it with your details. And if that’s not specific enough, you can click on another area and generate a specific complaint to a specific company… it’s even pre-addressed to the company’s correct address. And the site will send it by e-mail or snail-mail for even fax it off for you.
If your complaint is really serious, the site will help you send a fraud complaint to the proper government agency.
