Worst consumer experience in my life! - Rental Car - Complaint

KAHULUI, HI -- Do not rent from this Alamo, and if you do, BEWARE and be certain to inspect your car and have something in writing before leaving the lot. Bottom line is that our car was not inspected prior to leaving the lot, and we were charged $1200 worth of damages for damage that we absolutely did not do. Read other social networking websites like Yelp for others who have also had this same exact experience. This is wrong and needs to be stopped.

Just when you thought it was safe - Alamo Car rental at PDX - Complaint

PORTLAND AIRPORT LOCATION, OREGON -- My father (whom is 80) asked me to get him plane tickets and a rental car at Portland airport. So I did so and got the rental in his wife's name to be picked up on 1/21/11. This rental about $66 was picked up and returned on time with more gas than when it left. What they did not know was that they had been talked into a gas service plan?? that cost $60 some dollars. Way to go Alamo PDX! You took advantage of some old people. You know who you are.

Given incorrect information and OVER CHARGED - Beware - Rental Car - Complaint

ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLORIDA -- We booked everything online through a company and prepaid for everything, hotel and rental car. When we got to the rental car, the lady at ALAMO said if we wanted to upgrade and it would only be 30.00 extra for the week. When we returned the car, the charge was $30.00 extra per day. We truly believe this is a scam and we have no recourse. Now we are out and extra $300.00. We worked hard for our money and feel like we've been robbed! Don't use ALAMO! We will NEVER use this company again.

Good service from Alamo in Tampa - Car Rental - Compliment

TAMPA, FLORIDA -- Traveled to Tampa over Xmas and arrived 2 days late after getting stuck in Chicago due to the snow storm along the east coast. Had a really good price for the rental. Alamo not only honored the price but also upgraded the car for a small fee. Very helpful and no problems turning the car back in.

Gas more at Alamo-NOt on the island - Car Rental - Complaint

The Alamo Car rental at Kona Hawaii-is a rip-off if you believe the counter people telling you THEIR gas is CHEAPER ! NOT !

The lady assured me it was-only for me to find out that regular gas stations ALL over the island were WAY cheaper-
This is BS-Alamo should not tell people lies-or perhaps the counter person get a kick back? or perhaps the locals don't like the tourists....?
I will never TRUST Alamo again and will rent a car from another company-there are many to choose from-

Remember The Alamo - Car Rental - Complaint

PHOENIX , ARIZONA -- I reserved a car on the web site. It was a price of 285.00 I reserved at phoenix airport. At check in I was asked where I was traveling. Big big mistake. Told them I was going to Mexico. Well I was told our cars don't go to Mexico. So I had to go to dollar rental desk. I had no coupons price went to 625.00 Same car. Thanks Alamo you stink...

Car Rental At Orlando Airport - Car Rental - Compliment

ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- We arrived at Orlando airport from Philadelphia on March 23rd, 2008 at 9:30 am and were driving to Disney World by 10:15. We had pre-booked a Standard SUV and it took us approximately 10 minutes to pick the car from a wide selection and leave. The return was even faster ! This was the easiest car rental experience for me in my life. The rate was far cheaper than the other rental companies at the airport.

I will definitely use Alamo again.

Deceit alert - Do not rent on-line - Deceitful Car Rental - Informative

IF you use priceline.com or any other on-line service...make sure you know exactly the amount of your rental before trusting the counter person to tell you where to initial.... even if you tell them you do not want anyting additional... the counter people/organization are deceitful and will tack additional insurance onto your bill.

After dealing with customer service....I would recommend another car rental place... any other rental place!!!!

Inter city return charges - Car rental - Complaint

The Alamo car rental charged me $195.71 because I rented the car at Humphrey terminal of Minneapolis airport and returned at the Lindbergh terminal of the same airport. I could not do anything about it.

I have tried to resolve this through customer service of Alamo. Their answer is you signed the contract. The contract says this fee is for inter city drop-off not at the same airport!

My family and friends have decided to boycott Alamo for our future rentals.

Inspection of Cars Prior to Rental - Rental Car - Complaint

We just rented a car from Alamo in Hilo Hawaii. We found that the trunk doesn't latch when we picked up a passenger in town but didn't have time to exchange the car. Alamo "Roadside Assistance" told me that this would be a manufacturer problem and they have no responsibility. She also told me that they do not inspect their cars prior to rental. Very Very Poor Service.
