Misleading Flight Info Severely Inconveniencing Travel

I booked a one way ticket on Expedia.com for my schizophrenic brother to travel back home after visiting over the holidays. I have spent nearly an entire day attempting to get him checked in online and boarding passes printed and baggage fees paid and have been unable to do so. I have talked with Expedia personnel and US Air personnel after waiting for HOURS on the phone total to get a hold of these staff people for assistance. At no point did the Expedia.com personnel inform me I would NOT be able to check him in online nor print boarding passes nor pay baggage fees because they booked him on two different airlines on his 3 leg trip.

This has not only caused an extreme hassle to my Sunday spending hours trying to sort this out thinking there was something wrong with the US Air website (error msgs) but has caused a severe hassle for my family having to send him off without these practical details not taken care of for him. This is unacceptable customer service and I will never take this risk again with Expedia.com. Nor will I use US Air who left me on hold for at least an hour all told and did not inform me of the reason I was unable to check him in online leaving me to keep attempting to do so for several more hours. This has been a HUGE inconvenience and stress for me and will not be forgotten.

Flight Insurance Fraud

CALIFORNIA -- An international round trip ticket was purchased with flight insurance for a relative. Once the family member arrived at the port of entry, the US customs agent errored on the visa permit by a day, thus having to adjust the departing date. Expedia customer service would not service the ticket and suggested the airline be called directly. A fee was incurred for the change of date and the flight insurance purchased was not accepted. This is an absolute fraud. The Expedia agent agreed that their website does not disclose any specifics about changes and what the insurance covers..... Perhaps they need a class action suit!!!!

Flight Cancelled

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a ticket through Expedia about a month ago. My flight was cancelled the day I was supposed to fly. I was not notified by Expedia even though it was cancelled about 8 hours before my flight was supposed to leave. This is just the beginning of my frustration.

I called the airline I was flying on to try to get a new flight and was told that there were flights available but I would have to go through Expedia to get on one. I called Expedia and was on hold for over an hour. By the time I finally talked to someone there were no more flights available. I was put on a flight for the next day and that flight was also cancelled (not Expedia's fault). I called Expedia to get another flight and was again put on hold for an hour and a half. I was told that the agent was 90% sure that she had me booked on a flight but I had to call back the next day to make sure. Now I have to call Expedia and wait on hold for at least an hour to see if I have a flight tomorrow.

I would absolutely recommend against using Expedia to book flights. It is worth the extra money to be able to have better help if you have your flight cancelled.

Expedia Put a Hold on Bank Funds When No Transaction Had Taken Place

EDINBURGH -- I have just tried to book 2 flights from Glasgow to Las Palmas on the 1st of October returning on the 8th of October 2007. I was advised there were flights available. I then proceeded to book the flights but was advised after a few minutes, "We are unable to complete your booking at this time. Please try later."

I then decided to try another website, I found 2 flights available on www.lastminute.com. When I went to book the flights my payment was declined, I have enough funds in my account so I called my bank. They advised there was a hold on funds for £448.00, so I called Expedia as I assumed the flights may have been booked. I spoke to a young lady who advised the flights were not booked and that the payment was put on hold from my account before confirmation that the flights were available.

I want to know how they can put a hold on funds when no transaction has taken place. The young lady also advised it can take up to 7 days for the funds of £448 to be released which means I now cannot book the flights with
www.lastminute.com. I am absolutely disgusted with their business process, don't touch them with a barge pole.

No Flight, Expedia Took Money Anyway

BUFFALO, NEW YORK -- Tried to book flight, Expedia could not verify my card (airline had no problem). I exit Expedia.com, the next day I have charges on my card from Expedia but no reservations... Called Expedia - they told me they made a mistake but couldn't do anything until they spoke to my bank. Still waiting for the return of my money. Took $$ quickly - return $$ not so quick. Will never use Expedia again, such a hassle, waste of time.

BELLEVUE, WASHINGTON -- Despite repeated attempts with dropped calls, emails that got answered they would not issue a refund (even when they told me how much it would be!) and instead they closed the account! And again, despite repeated warnings that I would sue to get my refund, they ignored it. So, yesterday I filed suit and today mailed a copy of the complaint to the King's County Sheriff for them to serve on Expedia.

I received a $370.80 credit on a flight booked for 10/16/10. I was told that I had one year from the flight date to utilize the credit. Now I am told that the credit was only good one year from the date it was booked. End result, no credit, Expedia $370 richer.

Poor Service 5 Day Booking Resulted in Total Frustration

The Expedia connection to WestJet was down for 5 days and they did not know it. I wasted 5 days sending emails and sitting on hold. Finally booked direct with WestJet who said the Expedia site was always down. Expedia have No Concept of what customer service is. Another blotted-overrated corporation like Microsoft.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - STAY AWAY FROM EXPEDIA

We booked a flight from Savannah to Frankfurt and then a day later to Rome. Four days before our departure we were now informed that the flight had changed. They now booked us from Savannah to Munich and then to Rome the same day. I have a meeting in Frankfurt - and I don't want to be in Rome a day earlier than scheduled with my hotel booked only a day later. I cannot believe this is legal. I will call the BBB. Next time I'll book through AMEX. No deal is worth the hassle.
