We purchased our refrigerator on 1/8/07. It's been less than 3 years and now it doesn't cool. I don't care that I didn't purchase the extended warranty, I shouldn't have ANY problems with a refrigerator that's only 3 years old. Frigidaire will not help me without the warranty and I think their refusal to stand behind their product speaks volumes. I will never buy Frigidaire again! What a waste of $800 plus the cost of repairs. Lucky for me I was able to get a local appliance repair company agree to come out tomorrow, but $65 just to look at it... ouch!

UPDATE: I had an appliance service technician out to my home on 12/29 and after looking over the refrigerator he determined there was a freon leak and that it was running out of freon. The refrigerator side is warm now too. He also stated that he thought Frigidaire covered sealed components for up to 5 years. I asked him if there was anything that I had done to have caused this and he stated that it was nothing I could have done to cause the issue and that it was from the manufacturing being of poor quality.

I then contacted Frigidaire and they stated the sealed components were not covered that they only cover sealed components for the 5 year period for models built in 2005 or prior. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and she stated that I would have to wait for them to call me back and that I would get a call back the next day... I'm not holding my breath.

At this point we've decided to cut our losses and have purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator. We are shopping around for extended warranties, the store give us 30 days to make a decision. Overall I'm very disappointed with Frigidaire and their unwillingness to stand behind their product. I paid $800 for a refrigerator that only lasted 3 years due to the poor workmanship of Frigidaire.

GEORGIA -- Ran it at Max for first 2 weeks, thinking it is new and the weather is hot. Fridge part was barely cold so got a thermometer which registered in danger zone. Freezer was fine then. Called for service and told had to wait 2 days (and take a day off from work). Upon returning home on the day I called, found refrig temp at 60 and freezer defrosted. Over $300 worth of food gone spoiled. Called customer service and as a result received a $25 check (an insult) for food loss (not to mention 2 days lost pay which I knew there was not a prayer of getting). I had to stay home for service man to come and tell me the unit did not work because the sealing was corrupt.

Called AMEX because seller said I had to see if it could be repaired. AMEX said they would not pay the bill because unit was 3 wks old and I was dissatisfied. Gave me leverage with seller and I got another manufacturer (GE-fingers crossed for good luck). I tried to review it on the Frigidaire site but it will not accept a derogatory write-up. I will fight-perhaps in small claims court (?) because they sent a $25 check and I will not cash in I feel they have accepted responsibility. I have pix of full fridge and freezer of ruined food.

I have had this fridge for 13 months. During that time, I have had to call out a technician 4 times. The first time, the defroster wasn't plugged in when it was manufactured, so I ended up losing the entire contents of my fridge and freezer when it stopped chilling. The other problems have been the icemaker, the ice dispenser, water dispenser, noise in the fan, etc. I just had a repair man out several weeks ago, and now have another problem. Now the thing is noisier than a plane taking off! Loud noises are emanating from the freezer, deafening loud at times. I wonder if the whole thing is about to die! It wakes me up at night with its noise. Of course, my warranty has now expired.

I am so unhappy buying a Frigidaire. Nothing but problems. How many problems can a fridge have? I didn't know Frigidaire had such a bad product. I thought that they had been making fridges for years... Boy am I ever sorry I bought this one. My last Kenmore had for 3 years until I sold my house, not a single problem. I will not buy a Frigidaire product again or recommend that anyone else does. What a waste of time and money.

OHIO -- You would think when you spend $1000 on an appliance that it would last at least 5 years, maybe more. DO NOT BUY THIS APPLIANCE!!! This side-by-side was manufactured on 9/04, we have had it since 3/05, and just after warranty expired, it quit cooling. After speaking to a repair rep for Lowe's we found out this is quite common of this brand to go bad just over a year old. Compressor bad, it is junk... That is hard to swallow, to think I must again purchase all new food, and a new fridge. It is horrible to think that FRIGIDAIRE would make such appliances that would be no good after a year. I do know I will do more research on this website before I spend my next $1000!!!

Well, we are shopping for a replacement for our $1200 Frigidaire FRS6LR5EM6 side by side. We have the original purchase price in it, 3 calls to the service guy and the expense to fix it for the 3rd time for not cooling. We have 3 batches of bad meat/food to pay for. We have water damage to our wood floors. It seems to break and thaw out either at night or while I am at work. Water sits on the floor for hours till we figure out that it is OOS (out of service) again. If you bought a Frigidaire then you need the extended warranty. We bought a matching dishwasher and microwave so our appliances matched for the first 2 years.

We are waiting for the repairman to once again come by and fix the refrig. I am looking for a GE model that will match because we are selling this one to someone else, once it gets fixed. My luck it will run for years trouble free after this but I am not willing to make leap of faith. The repair guy says that those Frigidaires are made in Mexico and quality is not an issue with them. I believe it!

KENNEWICK, WASHINGTON -- It makes me sad to see another American brand name headed to the trash heap, but I'm sure corporate greed and outsourcing to blame again... I bought a 2003 side by side Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer. Now I am having intermittent failure of the freezer unit and can't get it repaired. Why? Service people won't respond BECAUSE IT IS INTERMITTENT. So now I am saddled with an American piece of junk I can't even get fixed. Because of this experience, I will now shun all familiar American brand appliances and buy quality European brands such as LG or Braun where the word 'quality' remains a significant word.

Broke down within 2 months lost full refrigerator few days before Christmas. They could have overnighted parts but refused. My certified tech tells me this will keep happening [Breaking down] so I'm into a $2000 new fridge that's a piece of junk. Also this unit is so noisy you wouldn't believe, I complained they sent a page long list of normal operating sounds. There's a sign!

My fridge is 7 years old, spent $1300 on it and the ice maker is going. Company basically told me I should have bought an extended warranty. Compressor went out at 2 1/2 years, and it was barely covered under warranty. I will never buy another one from them.

I paid $1000.00 in 2005 for a side by side refrigerator sold by Sears made by Frigidaire model # 253 54622406. After 1 year I had one door replaced for rust. I have been fighting with Sears for over a year. This is terrible.
