LONGMONT, COLORADO -- I have had my front loader washer for 2 years now and 3-4 months ago it started ripping up clothes. The repair guy says there is no registered remedy for this by Whirlpool so he cannot fix it. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL DUET FRONT LOAD WASHERS!!

Crazy price for plastic parts - whirlpool duet sport washer/dryer - Complaint

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Sport washer/dryer in 2007 to replace my 30 year old Maytag, which I had never had a problem with, the salesperson convinced us we should pay an astronimical amount of money- long story short- the dryer vent screen lining came off- had to replace that for nearly $40.00 and then the knobs broke! called today and they want over $26.00 a piece for these knobs!- I am putting this heap of junk up for sale and will never buy another Whirlpool appliance or Kenmore EVER.

Whirlpool Duet Washer - Washer - Complaint

We purchased Whirlpools Duet washer and dryer 6/2009. 3.10.11 my washer started to make a very loud noise and was leaking. We had the washer serviced. It's needs $900 in repairs. Tried to negotiate with Whirlpool to reduce the cost of parts without success.

We went out and purchased a top load washer with an extended warranty.

Whirlpool Duet - Front Load High Efficiency - Complaint

My set is 4 years old. The washer is very loud. I Washed a load of light colored tee shirts in warm water and all dirt stains were still there after the cycle. I have always used Tide, however I tried Cheer thinking it might be the detergent but it wasn't. I have never recommend this set to anyone and wished I had found this site before I spent WAY TO MUCH MONEY ON IT!!!

Extremely disappointed - poor quality product - Whirlpool duet sport front load washer - Complaint

We've had the product for a few years, replacing a top loader that served us well for 15 years. Already needs several hundred dollars in repairs. No help from Whirlpool (out of warranty). Don't buy this product unless you want to replace it in a few years!

Worst customer service - Whirlpool Duet WFW9400 washing machine - Complaint

We bought a brand new condo and our machine never worked. So far, we've had a service technician, 2 no-shows, 2 circuit boards replaced, and it still doesn't work. Whirlpool will not replace it until a technician deems it unrepairable. NEVER buy anything from this company!!!

This washing machine has been the worst appliance I ever owned. It's only 5 yrs old and it always has something wrong with it. I tried going to the Whirlpool site....but no help. It pisses me off that I pay good money for their crap and they can't even have a good website to help me figure out what is wrong with their piece of crap washer. I will never buy Whirlpool ever ever again!!!!

Bad Product - Worse Service - Duet Front Load Washer WFW8400TN - Complaint

This machine is terrible. It leaks on the floor after each load - I bought the pedastal to catch the water because I was afraid it was going to ruin my floor. It started making a noise 2 days after the warranty was expired and Whirlpool is unwilling to do anything to resolve the problem. I am having it serviced for the 3rd time in 13 months and am considering replacing it to avoid what I can forsee is going to be a lemon !!

Whirlpool Duet Washer Design Flaw - Complaint

The tear resulting in the leak has been right over that vent both times. You can see it pushing against the rubber. The repairman suggested we were getting something caught in the door, so we have been careful in watching for that. The first time, I accepted that explanation, but the second time made me look closer and that vent is the problem.

Whirlpool duet is awesome - duet washer - Compliment

The Whirlpool duet washer is the best. As the owner of 18 horses, 7 dogs, and a business concerning heavy equipment I know laundry and this machine can do it. It can get it all clean while using very little water. I got one when they first came out and still love it.

Whirlpool Duet - Complaint

POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK --
I am so sorry that I purchased this machine. It was expensive and appears to be defected. The door locks, the clothes come out smelly and unclean. The cycle takes longer then it should. I thought I would save money and energy with this machine. I do wonder what does it take to recall a machine. I have not spoken to one person that has had this machine for more then four years. I miss the good old days when machines could last for five to fifteen years.

$1000 New - 2 Years Old - $400 Repair - Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer - Complaint

I bought the Whirlpool Duet Sport washer 2 years ago. It was loud but did a good job of laundry. Here I am 2 years later and the drum bearing is seized. I'm looking at $400 and I've been without it for a week already. I'll only do this repair once and then I'll just spend that money on a top load.

Since it appears all appliances are made as cheap as possible these days, regardless of what you pay, might as well as pay as little as possible.

Whirlpool Duet Washer Never Again - Whirlpool Duet Washer - Complaint

HALIFAX NOVA SCOTIA -- This washer is one of the worst on the market. Mine is 5 years old and we had to have it serviced several times in the first year. Now that it over the extended warranty the rear bearings let go and when they did the front of the drum dropped and destroyed the front of the washer. Even when it was working at it's best it didn't clean the clothes properly.

Warning to the wise... RUN AWAY.

Bad Performance - Duet washer/dryer - Complaint

PURCELLVILLE, VIRGINIA -- We thought the Whirlpool Duet would be a great idea for our new house. The ability to stack them would give us more room. However, I find they do a very poor job of getting clothes clean and everything comes out stiff and very, very wrinkled. The settings are not adequate and I can not adjust them how I want them. My super-cheap apartment washer & dryer did a better job. I wouldn't buy them again or recomend them to anyone.
