Defective - Water Heater - Informative

This is my second water heater in 2 yrs. I try to work with the company with no luck and stupid me bought a second one at Lowes since I have their credit card I pay credit. This one you have to see the gunk comes out of it also it never stays on. The water were black I think the government need to look in to this company. They are ripping people off in this bad economy.

This water heaters is my nightmare. Three year old four repairs.
I get authorizations but is nothing but trouble.

Poor product - Hot Water Heater - Complaint

12/25/2010 First unit failed in less than 2 years. Second replacement unit ( installed at our cost, unit cost from whirlpool) is yet to work longer than 2 weeks. Replaced in November, serviced twice. Failed on Christmas Eve and worked less than 24 hours. Anybody know a good lawyer, our plumber won't touch these units...

Sidebyside frig. and gas water heater - Complaint

I have had everything that can be replaced on my frig. and now the thing is making another ODD sound, so I'm sure something is going out. More has been spent on this thing than what it cost brand new. Also my Whirlpool gas hotwater heater has a value control problem, so they sent new values and had to have a plumber put it on(at a good cost) and it still doesn't work.

My advice is don't buy Whirlpool and don't buy from Lowes, they don't back up there customers and sell junk.

Whirlpool water JUNK heater - Water heater UG1h5040T3NV - Complaint

I bought a Whirlpool water heater model number UG1H5040T3NV 14 months ago from Lowe's in Corona, CA and the pilot light kept shutting off. I called Whirlpool and they sent me a new valve which I installed 4 days later after I received it. It only lasted 10 days, so now Whirlpool is sending a technician to fix the problem. Yeah right!

I want to know if there is another class action lawsuit for this model so I can get compensated for all my troubles.

Disgust for Whirlpool - Hot water heater - Complaint

I have finally bitten the bullet and had my 5 year old HWH taken out and replaced. What a lousy piece of junk Whirlpool foisted off on me! I replaced everything but the tank (it didn't have to work too hard because other parts kept on breaking). I almost got to know the phone whacks in India on a first name basis. It got so that I could replace the heater element faster than a soldier could strip and clean his rifle. I will never look beyond the nameplate on any Whirlpool ever again!

It is awful. I'll never buy another Whirlpool appliance. We have changed the thermocouple every year. No it is not expensive to replace however you should not have to replace anything as often as this part. And the service is just as bad.

SAN ANTOIO TX, TEXAS -- Only a year old already broke. bought new at lowes. I took out the thermocouple with simple wrenches and a needle nose pliers. kill the gas.

Crappy Appliance And Service - Whirlpool Water Heater Prod # 0Z33013 - Complaint

WOODLANDS, TEXAS -- Have only had the heater three (3) years and I am taking COLD showers when I have not used any hot water for over four (4) hours!!! Happens all the time and Whirlpool just tells me the "warranty has expired", I have to pay for a service call and any replacement parts!!! We also have a dishwasher that has been worked on three (3) times and the part STILL does not work properly!!!

DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES!!!! THEY ARE CRAP !!!!

ELIZABETH CITY, NORTH CAROLINA -- I had continuing problems with the water heater electronic controls since installing it. It never maintained the proper water temperature varying from scalding hot to luke warm. It ran up my electric bill over $100.00 on 2 separate occasions. Whirlpool sent me a new circuit board the first time and I replaced it. The last time I removed the heater and hauled it to the dump.

I have replaced it with an Power Miser 12 from Sears. End of problem!

Water Heater Service Call - Hot Water Heater - Informative

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Purchased a hot water heater on 12/12/2008 from LOWES they did the Installation... The pilot light off Dec. 11 2008 called service department at Whirlpool 12/12 part arrived on 12/13/08 but the service department to come out was to be from SEARS free of charge. If I would have chosen the plumber from LOWES I would have to pay. Sears can not come out till Tuesday but the service department from Lowes would have a person come out the same day...

Never never again Whirlpool in my house....

Don't Buy! - Gas Water Heater With Flame Lock - Informative

ILLINOIS -- Dont' buy this water heater. Nothing but problems. I have replaced 4 thermocouples since March of 2004. Two within 6 months. Cost enough in thermocouples and labor to buy a new water heater. Received $30 from class action.

Flamelock thermocouple - hot water heater flamelock thermocouple - Informative

I have read a lot of reviews and they are all the same i also have a whirlpool hotwater heater i have installed (seven) flamelock thermocouplers i contacted whirlpool they gave me the same excuse every time i go to lowes they are out of flamelock thermocouplers or there is only a few left in the box maybe someone should find out how many are sold and that should tell whirlpool something it would be nice to get my $111.44 back from whirlpool

Water heater - Informative

TAOS, OHIO -- The water heater I bought thru Lowes quite after fourteen months. A service man said whirlpool sure made a lot of junk that year. Repairs 159.00, Lowes isn't a great place, but they are great at not giving a damn. Whirlpool won't ever see my money again.
