I tried closing an account that was paid in full in 2002 but was still on my credit report under 'NCO Financial'. I spoke to a representative named "Ms. Hartman" who collected my physical address and told me that a confirmation letter would be in the mail. When I didn't receive it and called the company again (same number as before) I was advised (on several different occassions)that a "Ms.

Hartman" did not EXIST and it was an automated system....funny, especially when the lady who identified herself spelled her name for me. It took over 2 HOURS, speaking to over 8 people and becoming so infuriated that I broke into a sweat in my office (on top of getting put on hold and getting cut off before even pronouncing my name) before I fianlly reached someone who could help me.....Customer Service seems more like Sham Service to me.

Depending on NCO to do something is like depending on Debtbasher to say your account is paid in full for free. LOL!

I don't see what the problem is. I've dealt with the company before, paid a bill, called right back because i wanted to check up on something. Spoke to a friendly rep who proceeded to give even more detailed info on my account and then assured me everything was done as i wanted. My bill was paid i have not heard from them since.
I'm sure proof of payment is on the way or you need to find a different contact number for the company......

I don't think I can stress this enough...
NCO, is not customer service... it is a collection agency... they don't want "your business"... Do you really want to be back in collections?

NCO is not customer service, we are debt collector, but if your bill is pais you have a right to your release letter of paymnet in full letter. If you got the ext. of the person you talk to that would help you find that agent. but if you did not. ANy agent at the office you where dealing with should be able to get what you need. NCO has offices all over the world and it is a big turn over as well not everyone who works there can take the stress and quit! the point is have your acct num in hand call the office you delt with and if you like ask for a manager right away. NOT all debt collectors are the same some are there to be nice and help.
