My wife and I planned an Anniversary trip to Playa del Carmen and thought I was being smart to purchase the travel insurance United Airlines directed us to...just one click to Access America's home page...insurance purchased.
About three weeks before the trip I went to the doctor complaining of a slight sore throat. I was prescribed anti-biotics...sore throat didn't go away and my doctor sent me to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. The specialist sent me to have a biopsy which was undermined but suggested I cancel our trip and got me an appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
we had purchased travel Insurance..should be no problem. After I was diagnosed with cancer of the throat and approximately 15 calls tp Access America the claim was denied due to a pre-existing condition.
The sore throat that my doctor originally diagnosed as just needing anti-biotics was my pre-existing condition. BUYERS BEWARE..this company will do everything possible not to pay your claim....they will ask for more paperwork, stall, not return calls and hope you give up. Read all the fine print. They make tons of money denying claims and have no business conscience at all.
