Dormia mattress Complaint - Dormia blatent liars - memory foam mattress
memory foam mattress - Complaint
FISHKILL, NEW YORK -- Dormia advertises mattress' like the Tempurpedic(RTM) at a $500.00 savings. Their ad says '5.3 lb. temperature sensitive memory foam'. Tempupedic is 5.3lbs/cu.ft.It is the density that makes the memory foam what it is. Density, of course, is measured as lbs./volume - by just listing a weight, the customer is fooled. I knew in order to be the same it had to be 5.3lbs./cu.ft. At the time I ordered, I had to call and when I asked their customer service rep if the specs were exactly the same as those of tempurpedic, they told me they were in every way but the cover. But the entire 8" mattress does not weigh nearly enough for the 3 inch top layer to have the 'same specs'. They give a 30-day trial, but you must pay the expensive shipping to return. (That policy is listed on another page on the site). I had asked three different ways about the density and was assured all the 'specs' were the same as the tempudedic. When I called to complain, the customer service rep. was extremely snotty. I wrote to the president of the company and was referred back to the same c.s.r. They advertise in Handyman magazine and several others, plus the internet.I do not understand how they have gotten along all these years with their 'tricky advertising'. This is not the same memory foam - do not be tricked.

Your product is horendous. I have have never had such a worse night sleep until I bought the Dormia. I bought the mattress because the salesman said it would be better for my back.It has made it worse and now my wife cannot sleep on it. It might rebound when you get off of it but it has no memory when you are sleeping on it.It goes down over 10inches which is horrible for the spine. Deceptive product and If it is not resolved by Mattress Discounters of manassas or Dormia I will be going to the better business bureau, the news organization and have them investigate and will be picketting the store.

I work as a salesperson in a Dormia owned factory store. My advice is to take advantage of the Dormia exchange policy. Its a $99 redelivery charge and the difference. Very fair I think. To be honest, have sold beds for various retailers for over 15 years, and the Temperpedic standard mattress that the various retailers (as well as Dormia) emulate is often not the best mattress for the consumer. It lacks a good cover that is breathable, it doesnt have edge supports, and the support base is not that good. Before you think that Temperpedic is that much better, I recommend that you do a little reseach on people who have bought that bed--it is my opinion that there complaints will be very similar to yours. See if you can upgrade at the Dormia store to products that have the features that I mentioned before.

you would think they would show some compassion but they are really nasty..they are not even answering the phone in the mall store when they see my number come up.what true Bas... they are! shame on you .. all I want is a good matress ..is that too much to ask.?? exchange this for a new one that isnt broken down on one side,,It hasnt been a month yet aND I have been complaining from the first nite..

It should be replaced for free - there shouldn't be a re-shipping charge if your bed doesn't live up to the language in your guarantee. It's just a way for your company to make more money off a bad situation.

I totaly agree with this person. Dormia is not a reputable company. We will have to throw out a $3,000 mattress because we can no longer sleep on it. Each side of this King mattress has deep furrows with a large hump in the middle. Their warrenty is not worth the paper it is printed on. Never having back problems before..........we sure have them now ! Before we do throw it out.....I'm going to cut into it to see exactaly what it is made of. It will be well worth the investment to do this for a future law suit against them. DO NOT go anywhere near DORMIA ! You will never have a good nights sleep again !
