Bank of America always advertises how safe their ATM or Night deposit(including cash) are for their
customers. This is not so! I found this out last month when I
deposit $900 cash into their ATM machine after I got off work. Unfortunately, my work hours are not the same as their business hours...and I was not able to make this transactions during their business hours.
Two days later, I discovered a large chunk of money missing from my account while making a withdrawal. When I arrived home I check my account online and discovered my deposit was retracted stating empty envelope. I was irrate! I called
customer service who connected me to Electronic Debit Claims dept. I filed a complaint with this so call department who supposely investigates claims. They issued me a temp. credit which promptly was taken away 45 days later. Told me there was no error on their behalf. My wife and I called several times during this "investigation" They would not give us any information in regards to this issue and what they found out. They gave us many excuses and even lied to us about who counts the money that is retrieved from these ATM machines. We were told the deposits into the ATM are picked up by contractors who take the money to a central location and count the money. We found out by an ex
Bank of America employee this is not true, that the money is usually counted by two tellers at the location. The policy of two tellers became effective because in the past there were too many deposits missing or customers were shorted when it was one teller doing the counting. After the bank sent us a letter stating no error occurred on their behalf and took our money away. My wife called the customer service Friday late afternoon totally irrate stating to them "find our money or we will close all acccounts." They claim they will re-open the investigation and recredit our account.
