I'm guessing these "dairy meats" had exceeded their expiration dates?

My Ballpark hotdogs have a sell by date printed on the package. Did yours?

What was the expiration date on the packages?

After ground beef has been refrigeratd for about 5 days it may turn brown due to chemical changes in the myoglobin. As long as the beef does not have an odd smell or a tacky feel it should be edible.

Expiration dates don't always tell the whole story. If meat and dairy are not kept at proper temps, they can spoil. I always do the smell test before cooking. If it's the least bit off, I don't take the risk.
