International Phone Service - Complaint
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- Startec charges for phone calls that have never been made. I canceled on August 18, 2011. Was very hard to do as they answer the phone once, but after I told them that I wanted to cancel they put me on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on me. I kept calling, but they obviously blocked my number.
I had sent bunch of faxes to the Headquarters and finally was contacted via e-mail by a rep, who offered a discount for the next 6 months. I was fed-up and asked to cancel the account. The representative finally confirmed the cancellation.
Today is October 15 and they are still charging my account. Crooks!
Stay away from Startec for good!

Are they charging your credit card or your bank account? If so, then dispute the charge with the credit card company or bank. You may also want to contact your state's attorney general's off ice for advice on how to deal with Startec. Thanks for taking the time to warn other consumers about this.
