Empire Flooring Complaint - Worst cusomer service ever, Deceiving LIARS there is NO WARRANTY

FRANKFORT, ILLINOIS -- I am posting this review on many many many different sites. I’ve been ripped off and I will not let it go… Thank you empire….

I am a father of three just trying to make a good life for my kids. I'm not out to hurt anyone. However, I don't like being Ripped off. Please read the entire Review below...

At first the sales man quoted me $8000 dollars for my laminate flooring in my small living & dining room. Then after he said let me call my boss and see if I can get you a special “deal”. I ended up paying $2700….Yes he went from $8000 to $2700 and I still know I paid too much but I needed it done fast cause I had a family party coming up the following week. He said the warranty was 20 years no questions asked, if there are any issues they come out free of charge and take care of it. “What a LIAR” 9 months later I noticed parts of the floor are peeling up. I called to utilize my warranty and this is when it all starts…. Lie after lie they were trying to charge me for every little thing including $125 just to come look at it. This is by far the WORST CUSOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DELT WITH…. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DECEIVING COMPANY!!!!! I still have not fixed the floor issues. Please read other reviews about EMPIRE they are all the same… (NEGATIVE)... except for the employees they most likely have lying once again writing positive reviews…… I RECOMMEND TO YOU---PLEASE VIDEO RECORD THE SALES MAN so you can back up what he said to you in court. It’s your house and you can legally video record him. DECEIVING LIARS...

This boils down to a simple matter - what is written on paper? From your complaint, I am guessing you don't have anything written.

If this "warranty" was only verbal, there is essentially no warranty and no way of proving that conversation took place. I wouldn't even take the time to videotape - you should have a written warranty.

Based on what I've read on this site, Empire salesmen are extremely aggressive and will do or say anything to make a sale. I would never even let one in my home because I would feel threatened.

I'm really sorry this happened to you. I don't think there's much you can do about it now. Even if you had the warranty in writing, I'm willing to bet Empire would find a way out. So don't beat yourself up over not getting the warranty in writing.

Empire salesmen are aggressive because they make a huge commission. I had a similar problem with Window Wizards. High pressure, you MUST sign today or lose the "special" price. They are now out of business.

I am sooo sick of Empire's TV commercial. They constantly run it all day long. "Buy one room of carpeting and get three rooms free." This tells you right there that they are a scam. No legitimate dealer could offer this and stay in business. They use cheap junk materials that will fail just to make a sale. Do NOT do business with these people.

voltiac36 I urge you to contact the Attorney general of your state as well as the Federal Trade Commission about your experience. Sadly they will take no immediate action to resolve this issue, but they keep records of all complaints and if Empire is ever investigated this information will aide in prosecuting cases against them.
Thank you for making this information available to anyone that may have interest in purchasing services and/or materials from Empire.Also I urge anyone reading this to do your business with a local company and help support your local economy.
I was a sub contract installer for Empire for a short period of time. I was run all over the place installing there poor grade materials and I saw first hand how underhanded this company is. It was explained to me that "there are costs related to conducting business" when if there was any truth to that statement they should have said "there are cost related to conducting business with Empire" I was required to spend money out of my own pocket to provide materials for jobs, and never reimbursed for these expenses. When confronting them they would play with the numbers to make it look as if (on paper) they did pay for these materials. Due to the fact that I was never told what the actual pay per foot was, and every time I asked someone I got a different answer from each person at Empire. As most of these reviews reflect there is no savings with shopping with Empire (regardless of what there happy little cartoon guy wants you to believe) The issues with Empire ,based on the thousands of negative reviews/complaints, go beyond a few unsatisfied customers into an area where legal liability is in fact been breached. A complete boycott of Empire is warranted here. Those ad's you see on TV are not free, someone is paying for them. Please do not let it be you!
