Hampton Inn & Suites Informative - Dishonest
MATTESON, ILLINOIS -- I left a pair of women's dress shoes by the side of the office chair in the hotel room. They must have been between the bottom part of the chair and not very visable. As soon as I hit the highway to the airport I realize I forgot the shoes. I pull over check my duffle bag for them just in case, and I confidently confirm they are where I left them in the hotel room. I call as soon as I double-check. I have gotten the run-around from all of the staff as to where a pair of shoes went and disappeared in a matter or an hour. I finally get to the General Manager who then was mouthy and wouldn't let me talk because I was making 'accusations' even though I'm the guest, paid a nice amount to stay for 2 days, and I still have no shoes. Don't stay there....your belongings will come up missing as fast as you turn around. And don't ask the "professional" staff because you might be talking about one of their family members if you 'accuse' them of stealing. They are also buddy-buddy. You can tell they let a lot of their friends and family stay there just by how the customers and guests act towards each other. Never again will I stay there.

I hope they weren't terribly expensive shoes. When I stay at a hotel, I do a complete sweep of the room before I check out, looking for things in places I likely wouldn't have put them. The reason I do this is because once I check out, I expect anything left behind will magically grow legs and walk off. In a perfect world, any left behind items would be reunited with their owners ASAP, but the reality is that they typically aren't.

Of course someone swiped them.....its america, no ones has values anymore.

Jeff, Westin returned shampoo to me. Hilton returned clothing we were trying to discard. Inn on the Square kept our luggage for us and added some nice cape cod memories. So stop the blanket statements please. There are MANY good people out there.
