Avis Complaint - Avis Car Rental in St. John's Newfoundland ripping off customers - Car Rental

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND -- Renting a car in St. John's Newfoundland Canada seems to be excessively expensive. Traveling to the island recently, I had pre-booked a car and expected to pay around $800.00, which I thought was rather expensive. Having travelled there a few months earlier and having rented from avis on this occasion, I was charged about $700.00. So, same car, same options, upon arrival, they wanted $2100.00 for 2 weeks. NUTS! It was about 11pm, snowing and I was with my family, including a child. I was told, luckily it's our last one. I had no choice but take it or stay stranded.
They refused to budge or do anything. As someone who travels and rents cars around the world, avis in St. John's must be the most expensive on earth for a Chevy Impala. I will never rent from avis again in my life.
Avoid at all cost, or pay the price!

Thanks for the review. About the best thing you can do is use one of the 7 other car rental agencies available at St. John's.
