Burritos - Complaint

APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA -- I'm not a huge Chipotle fan to begin with, but it'll do when I want something wrapped in something else. The problem is-it's all wrap and no substance.
On Friday, my husband and I went to Chipotle. The line was out the door, so naturally the people making the food were busy, but as I got closer to the front, I noticed people having to ask for more this or more that. I ordered a simple bean and rice burrito. I got a grain of rice and a bean. When they wrapped it up, it looked smaller than something from Taco Bell, except the cost was about 6 times as much. There were six thousand people behind me, and I was being pushed out the door, so no, I did not speak with the manager, and I haven't contacted them yet simply because I'm not interested in getting a coupon for another baby-sized burrito. I just won't go there anymore. Q-Doba isn't much better taste-wise, but they load up the tortilla, and if all you have is beans, they don't charge you the same as if you got a side of beef in it.

I don't think I have ever seen a small Chipotle burrito! Must be specific to that location. I do have to say, though, that I like Q-Doba better for taste and selection.

I like the Chipotle near me. The burritos are usually huge and fill me up.

I agree that they are usually huge, but the last couple of times I've gone there, I've noticed the rice and beans is not proportionate to the tortilla. I guess it's just this location.

Perhaps it's just me but the couple of times I've been to chipotle it was nothing more than expensive taco bell with a weak salsa bar. I know people go nuts for chipotle but I don't get it.

The local Chipotle is not too bad. The few times I have been there I get my stuff in a bowl. That avoids all the Gluten and grease from the tortilla. Skelly, think you do have a cheap location. Send a report to the home office, they do like feedback.

Old Timer, I went ahead and sent a note to HQ after I posted the review. I told them I didn't want anything but that they may want to check what's going on there. I'll update here with their response.

Well, they responded. They were very nice about it but sort of implied that because I don't load my burrito up with all sorts of crap, I should expect it to be tiny, which is a load of b.s. because I told them that this has just recently started happening and that the people around me are also always asking for more rice, beans, meat, whatever. I'll go back in a few weeks and see if anything has changed.

That's interesting, thanks for the feedback. Rice and beans cost what? $10.00 for a 50lb sack? You would think they would load you up with as much carbs and fats as they can so you think you're getting something for your money.
I notice when I get the bowl it's always about the same. They must have to fill the bowls so they at least look full?

Trmn8r, I buy a quarter of a beef from my dad every 18 months or so. Last time it cost me about $250. And the steer was over 900 lbs total.
