WARRENTON, MISSOURI -- My mother and I went to the Waffle House located in our home town yesterday which was 3-23-12 at 5 :00 pm and could not even hear my self talk let alone the waitress the music was so loud like being at a concert. my mother is blind and I have to read her the menu so I asked the girl if she could turn it down a bit, she came back and said no she couldn't because they don't have a key to get to it to turn it down. well needless to say we got up and left. we have been in there before and never has the music been so loud you can't hear any one talk. Now I don't know if she was telling me true or not but if she was I am telling you that there are a number of restaurants in Warrenton, and that's what we did got up and went to Dennys.

Good review! Always let your money do the talking...

There's nothing worse than extra loud music in a place that "should " provide a place of warmth and relaxation... I'd never even have sat down on entering that kind of environment.
Who needs to hear Lawrence Welk or elevator music at 5000 decibels.

Even without music, Waffle House doesn't strike me as a place with warmth and a relaxing atmosphere. I do go there quite a bit, but then, It's the only place for a good breakfast. I don't consider fast food to be a good place for breakfast, to processed. I'm sure that there are a few smaller places but I haven't really looked.

More true words I don't believe have been spoken. They may have cranked the music up to distract "diners" as to what is going on around them.

I empathize with the OP - some eateries are militant about sound levels, and employees are not empowered to alter the "entertainment" significantly.

Was the jukebox playing those "Waffle House" songs at the time? I know that many of them are both funny and hokey (I own a CD of Waffle House songs.) Still, regardless of the music, the jukebox shouldn't have been on that loud.
