Complaint

SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- Took my mom to dinner for her bday ordered steak and lobster it was so salty we complained and they brought us new ones that were almost as bad. My daughter order the pasta and she's easy to please. I asked her why she isn't eating her dinner and I tasted it.

I've had frozen dinners that are better by far they said its there new way of seasoning and offered us a online survey for a free blooming onion.

I spent $90 bucks and it totally sucked.

We will go to Texas roadhouse and Red Robin. Good every time.

I'm amazed their still in business.

there are some chefs that do not taste the food they prepare. worse is when a dish is returned, they do not taste it either.

very helpful review!

The problem is very simple.

Outback touts itself as a "full-flavored steakhouse", and when you ask what that means, you are told they season the cr** out of everything.

I think what this really means is that their food stinks so badly that they mask it so much all you can taste is spices. "What do you think about dat dare New Yorker, Clem?" "By Joe, dat dare is da best darn slab of beefe I had forever!"

When you ask for no spices, the meat is totally bland. In this case, they simply gave you the same thing twice, which is what I came to expect at OB. Texs RH had horrible immature servers. RR banned me. I eat at home now.

A chef that does not taste the food is a cook, unworthy of the title chef.

I would not expect to find a chef at Outback, TRH, etc. They call whoever is in the kitchen at Red Lobster a "grillmaster". Yeah, ok, whatever!

This is why I am picky about where I eat. I HATE salty food and it seems like so many places are heavy handed with the salt shaker. I avoid Outback for this very reason. Good review.

I agree with jkt. Some people feel Gordon Ramsay is wrong when he climbs the frame of chefs, either on Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares, but when someone is paying good money for their food, they deserve that the food be edible, at least. Something that should be in every in every kitchen is a container filled with teaspoons. Food needs to be tasted to assure it is worthy of waht they charge for it.

I ate at Outback just once. My opinion - overpriced, flavorless steaks, not worth my time.

Years ago at Outback I would order the thick center cut pork chops with a small side of baked beans and spiced apples. They were delicious but it's my understanding they aren't even on the menu anymore. Most of the restaurants now have entirely too much sodium for my taste.

Flavorless? That is interesting. I found them so loaded with spices that I couldn't taste the meat at all. And the managers were proud of their "full flavor" mantra. They can be proud - I eat elsewhere.
