This refrigerator was new 6 years ago and during the first year under the original warranty the ice dispenser wouldn't stop making ice cubes and had to be replaced. Then a year later the plastic water shield behind the water dispenser broke and the entire front dispenser panel had to be replaced. Now six years later the inlet valve on the left lower back started leaking and had to be replaced. AND the new replacement valve was faulty (made in China) as shortly after it was installed it automatically shot water out from the water dispenser after it filled the ice cube tray...all by itself!!! Now that's a neat trick! Where water sat (I had left the house temporarily when it started the problem) and when I returned the water on the floor ruined my laminate floor in some places and now has to be replaced!!! I shut the water line off and waited for another replacement valve to be installed. New one works fine. Repairman said he never would have thought that could happen ujnless he saw it. And It did and he saw it! Guess you have to see to believe. My old GE frig was 18 years old when it died with nary a problem. But it was made in America. DON'T BUY A FRIGERDARE SIDE BY SIDE!!!
