MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE -- Me and My husband just left Applebee's on Union Avenue. We normally eat on Sundays at a different Applebee's. I always order from the 2 for 24 menu Ribs, fries & slaw. My ribs looked good on the top. I bit a piece and tasted burned meat. After turning it over I descovered it was solid black on the other side. The waitress took it back. 25 minutes later they brought me back the same exact ribs. The waitress asked the manager to look at it. You know what he said, "that's the way they always look. I said crispy black on the back. He said well yes. Then he offered me to wait while they cook some more. I said, "Well if they are just going to send some like that I would rather not." I did not eat. I don't understand how I can eat it every Sunday at a different location & they are not burned. I hate to wast time and money and I did both today.

Mmmm. Memphis + ribs = I'm in love.

Down South in Pennsylvania we don't have ribs at Applebees. In fact there is nothing good at Applebees around these parts.

You have many good choices for BBQ - I lived there for 10 glorious months. If you have an Applebees where you can reliably get ribs, I would go there exclusively.

If I want good ribs Applebee's would be the last place on my list. I have given this bottom feeder chain joint more chances than they deserve. Their food and service is consistently bad. Mostly kids working there expecting a big tip for lousy service. Over priced drinks and poor management, I refuse to return.
