LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA -- I opened an account with then a few months ago and already had enought of them. They charge outrageous fees for selling them. The onvoice at the end of the month is always a SURPRIZE unlike Amazon where they tell you how much you will get from selling an item from the beggining. The terms are not very clear. I had a few buyers that did not pay and I still was charged fees for selling the item, which was unfair. Called the company about 3 times, left a message to talk to a manager then called next day and they told me they tried to get in touch with me. Whar a LIE!!!! I am closing my account and I am highly recommending not selling your things here. Not worth your time and you will make no money, they always find a way to take it from you.

There are many thousands of people selling stuff every day on Ebay, so what you say isn't true for everyone.

Is Ebay perfect? No. Have the fees increased over time? Yes. Have I bought and sold on Ebay? Yes. Would I sell on Ebay in the future? Yes.

I've sold a bunch of vintage and antique stuff - items there is no local market for - and been happy to get to someone who can use them and also get a good price for them.

Ebay is still good for items like this. There are other auction sites out there, and you have things like Craigslist to sell locally. There are pros and cons to each, depending on what kind of item and the market for it.

Ebay's fees are spelled out, but when things go wrong like a non-paying bidder it is more complicated. Ebay's customer service has never been the easiest to use - I think the basic problem is a balance between making people find answers themselves vs. providing lots of customer support people to answer every question. Good luck at whatever site you choose to use.

I don't know why people still bother with Ebay?

Ebay is pretty much a monopoly in the online auction world. With the ownership of paypal they pretty much control 90 percent of online transactions.

My advice to you and others is to drop Ebay and sell on Webstore.Com instead...NO seller fees at all...Once I started selling on there, I never looked back at Ebay.
