Hewlett Packard - Poor Customer Service

H/P D/M 4 NOTEBOOK - Complaint

PALO ALTO, CA, CALIFORNIA -- I have been trying for the last week to reach tech support in regards to my new H/P notebook, D/M4 Serial Number #ABA 2345678A Model # 6578478#ABA, I have not been able to start my computer, I have tried removing the battery and then press the power on button, still no response, also I have tried to start my computer with the battery and just the AC adapter still no results, I called on 10/18/201 and spoke to a Tech support representative by the name of Ali he provided me with a case number RE34567897654, I have called on 4 other occasions on 10/20,21,22,24 and no one has been able to help. Over the last ten years I have bought numerous H/P desktops, notebook computers, also printer from H/P after this experience I will no longer look to H/P for my computer needs. Your total unprofessional attitude toward your customers is very well documented and has been a reason H/P has declined in sales over the years.

It sounds as if the internal power connector may have failed. If you are not seeing any lights when the laptop is plugged in to the power supply try genly moving the connector where it is plugged into the laptop back and forth to see if there is any response. If you see a response you may have a loose connection. The power jack is normally "soldered" to the motherboard and is a common failure point. If you can find a good PC technician this is a simple repair. Alternately try another power adapter (the "brick" that your power cord plugs in to).

I just wrote a letter myself because I was at my wit's end. Now I read that HP and Dell are having a rough patch. They make it so frustrating that you do not even want to call.
