PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA -- Three days ago I brought my laptop in for servicing. They told me they would call me in a few hours after I dropped it off to provide me with a ticket/tag number and an approximate time frame for the repairs. They never called me! I called several times and they would not tell me anything.

At the end of the second day I drive back to speak to them in person and still got no answer. Called again at the end of the third day and still no indication of what has been done, if anything or when it would be completed. Tonight I called the 800# and they had no record of a service tag. She recommended that I go to store in morning and ask to physically see my laptop, insist on getting a service tag number and also call the "public defender" who handles complaints from Geek Squad.

I will do this in the morning, Very disappointing

To be 100 percent honest, i would NOT trust best buy geeksquad with any service. My boyfriend, who is a tech and really good at computers, applied for geeksquad and they told him he was overqualified. How can one who's good at computers be too overqualified? Seems they want people that are slow, don't know what they are doing, so they can rip people off. If they wanted the best, they would take the best....Your best bet is to find a local computer tech who can help you with your problems. Look in classifieds, look in ads online, im sure theres people always looking for work that will charge you much less than geeksquad....and actually do their job.

We've never had an issue with our local GeekSquad.(2 laptops in 07, one in 08, one in 09, each for a different family member.)

When we had to take one in, we always had our BB receipts showing purchase and proof of warranty--each kept in its original GeekSquad folder. Every time, we waited for some type of receipt or invoice before we left without an expensive electronic device. In front of me, they put an identical bar code on my machine and on a paper work order.

Why would you leave your laptop without having some proof that you'd left it there?
