I called Direct TV to cancel my service after months of unhappy service. It took me over 40
Minutes of continuously telling their employees I no longer wanted their service; Too bad they didn't listen until I got to this point. After finally getting to someone who would cancel my account I was on for another 10 minutes. I told all of the employees including the last individual I'm closing my account. Just at that time my wife yelled that a water pipe broke and I had water pouring down my ceiling. I explained to the same person, "I'm having an emergency, I have to go, Please just close my account".
Much to my surprise, they did not close it... What??!!' When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said I didn't stay on the phone for the entire conversation... Come on, I was on the phone at that point for close to 1 hour... They made me pay another 2 months of service or they would send me to collections.
I explained the entire story to the supervisor and she really didn't care, to me this was nothing more than a feeble attempt to get me to keep my account open. I made an honest attempt to close the account out, the time I spent on the phone proved this.
Don't use Direct TV, they will tell you what you want to hear to get you signed up!!!
