Ok today I decided to treat myself to some things with avon.com. Its easy to order, and I figured I deserved a treat for myself. Well, I recently moved and forgot to change the zip on my account. I remembered to put my correct address, just not the same zip code. Yes, my fault completely. But how avon handled it, I thought was a little odd. They will not let you cancel an order if you made a mistake because immediately after they get your order, its apparently too late to do anything. They will not refund you for a good week or 2 til the item is returned to them (it must be shipped first, so do NOT order by Paypal, I made that mistake and now have to wait. If you order by credit card you can at least dispute it). Also they told me if I did dispute it with Paypal, I could NEVER order avon again because it would be fraud. Really? If I dispute it to cancel it it would be fraud? All because of 1 mistake? To know a company would do that, for me wanting to get my money back if I didn't get the product, is a little out there. So I found the way they handle their billing is horrible. At least with Amazon, I can cancel an order if I make a mistake, because not everyone is perfect. But avon won't even give you time to change it. Within 15 minutes they said they didn't have the order. When it was 30 minutes they said it was ready to ship. And with Paypal, they bill you instantly so, they have gotten my money. So be very careful. Because of my mistake its gonna take at least another week to get to me, luckily the second representative was a little nicer to me and was willing to call me when it reships. I realize my errors but how a business handles their products is a reason why I shop. I don't think ill be ordering from avon for awhile....at least not the website.

Although I haven't ordered from avon.com in a few years, I've never experienced any problems..in fact, sometimes they included extra goodies with my order. I never had to cancel, so this is interesting information.

My concern would be even trying to dispute a charge when one knows the mistake was their own. Especially if there was a solution in place.
Why couldn't you have just places a duplicate order with the correct zip and allow the process to handle itself?

Well they said if i dispute the charge, i will never be able to order again EVER as thats fraud???...And they are gonna hold my 48 dollars for 2-4 weeks until they get the item back, which sucks even worse. I hate when companies do that. I know several sites that give you a good few hours to cancel and reorder if you make a mistake. I hope i get my order, but i doubt i will ever order from avon again..they are just so picky.

Also a duplicate order, i can not afford. I only had 48 dollars to spend on myself and well, now its gonna be on hold. I guess the bright side is when im broke in a few weeks, ill get my money back. I will go to paypal and dispute it and they can ban me for life. I am very unhappy and plan to warn as many people as i can about the way they do business and to be very cafeful when ordering from them. I think i will take my business to another good make up company.

So i guess ill wait til its returned and they can reship it to the right address. Next time i will know...But its sad how fast companies ship out a product like this, without letting people change something if they must. I guess amazon must be the only place that lets people cancel an order or change an order before it ships.

i did end up getting the product thankfully, and all the items were in tact. So luckily my 1 little mistake didnt const much but just be careful when ordering to anyone, is what i suggest.
