PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- For a time now I have ordered from Gaetano's Steak/Apollo Pizza in the Mayfair Area of NE Philadelphia. For some time I was pleased with their food and service, but let me tell you all that this change tonight. My sister and myself ordered two salads and an order of potato skins. You may ask, how can this go wrong? Well, let me tell you. We waited 1.5 hours for delivery, so already after being told we will receive the delivery in 40 minutes, we were not too happy. When the food finally arrives through their snail delivery service, the potato skins get here ice cold, garlic bread hard as a brick, also ice cold, and worse of all the salad is all over the place in the bag, dressing opened and a mess in the bag, everything not edible.
I called the restaurant and spoke to their customer service reps, boy... the attitude I receive was incredible, actually ghetto to say the very least. They did not offer a refund, food nor anything else, so I asked the to have their manager call us. About 20 minutes later their manager by the name of DAWN calls with the most unprofessional attitude you can ever imagine, accusing my sister and myself of calling their establishment and using profanity towards their employees. I tried to explain to her that no one in this house used profanity against their workers, but she proceeded to over talk me. At this point, I was not going to enter into a tit for tat with her because it's not my style so I terminated the call.
At this point my sister called and was also received with the attitude of the century by their manager DAWN. My sister explained the situation to Dawn and Dawn instead of offering a solution starting lecturing her about profanity. My sister informed her that at no point was profanity used toward their employees plus we are minister and do not carry ourselves that way. Dawns reply was that us saying we did not use profanity was just hear say.
I am sitting listening to all this and saying to myself, that I can not believe the lack of professionalism and business ethics displayed, and considering that they have made plenty of money from us, a refund or something should have been offered.
All I could say is NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIANS beware. This is an establishment that you should really think twice before ordering from, not because of the quality of food, but for the lack of customer service, respect, courtesy and business ethics displayed.
And oh yeah, I filed a BBB complaint against them and called my bank to make sure payment to them was not made, since the food was not edible at all.
