I just read a user complaint about Uhaul. I had the same experience. The truck I rented did not have a 1st gear. The brakes worked very poorly. The brake lights, turn signals, and wiper did not work. I needed to pickup and deliver furniture on a rainy dark night.

They are a greedy corporation that cares nothing about the safety of the customers. I later learned that Uhaul only rents defective trucks that are not road worthy. They move the trucks from state to state so that they do not have to be inspected.
