Sprint PCS Complaint - Most Horrible Cellular Company In The World

Complaint
Review by Neno84 on 2006-04-27
HYATTSVILLE, MARYLAND -- THE FOLLOWING IS A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT I WENT THROUGH WITH SPRINTPCS FOR TWO-YEARS BEFORE SWITICHING TO VERIZON WIRELESS..

1...In two years I owned 17 SPRINTPCS CELL PHONES! That's right, you read it correctly. 17 phones.

2...Every single month I had a surprise bill in the mail, usually $20-40 higher than what it should be.

3...I had the worst service in the world. It got to the point where I was sometimes dropping over 30 CALLS A DAY! And if that wasn't bad enough, roughly 40% of my calls I wasn't receiving. People were calling me left and right but calls were being directed to my voicemail, even though my phone was on and the ringer was on.

4...According to Sprint I should have had some of the best cellular service in the world. My phone was able to pick up a signal from NINE different towers in my area. Five of them were immediate to my location. Ironically, Sprint blames my horrible service on the fact that I had 'TOO MUCH SERVICE'. Supposedly my phone was accessible to so many different towers that it received too much service and caused the phone to become overwhelmed with signals and thats what was causing my dropped calls.

5...I soon realized that the 'brand' of phone you use with SprintPCS largely determines the type of service you will receive. In two-years I had 2 LG5350s, 3 Samsung A500s, 3 Sanyo 8100s, 2 Sanyo video phones (then very 1st one's to come out, I forgot the exact model number), 2 Toshiba Video phones, another Sanyo video phone, and finally a the Samsung SMS International Phone which retailed for over $500. Just to let you know, out of all of these phones I only paid for 3 of them. I will not tell my secret as to how I was able to obtain so many phones but it wasn't anything illegal and it wasn't any type of 'hook-up'. It was just pure smarts and doing something that no one really takes the time to do. I did notice that with Samsung in particular as well as LG and Toshiba, I got horrible service in my home. Then I switched to "Sanyo" brand phones and my service had a dramatic increase in service. It was considerably better. Just food for thought.

6...During my two years with Sprint I was able to use my impecable powers of manipulation and persuasion to milk Sprint out of hundreds of dollars in credits and courtesy credit. One time I actually got Sprint to waive my bill for four months. I also got them to issue me credits totalling hundreds of dollars after threatening them. You see, the thing with Sprint is if you come across and typical and unknowledgeable, they will take you for all you've got. If you call and actually sound like you know all their games and tricks and gimmicks and you sound intelligent and don't come across as a push-over, you get Sprint to do your bidding.

7...I left Sprint after owing them $140, most of which I shouldn't have paid because of over-charging. I took my chances and when to a Radio Shack and asked them to run my credit to see how much of a deposit I would need to put down for Verizon Wireless. When the answer was "0" I quickly transferred my number to Verizon and setup new service with them. To be forewarned, Verizon's customer service isn't too much better than Sprint but their service is a thousand times better and you typically won't be seeing surprise bills in the mail every month.
