LOMBARD, ILLINOIS -- We my fiancé and I wanted to buy a new couch. Rick is my fiancé and he is on kidney dialysis awaiting a kidney so we were looking for a nice couch that offered comfort for him. We seen an ad and we went there to purchase the couch in the ad. Well they said that they did not have that couch. I said "when will you be getting it". They said that they weren't going to get that couch in. Well I was very disappointed to say the least so I wanted to speak to the manager. The manager told me "sorry" and I said "isn't that like a bait and switch". Everyone looked shocked that I said that. Little did I know what I know now I would have ran out that door fast and not looked back.

So we look around and we find a nice ivory leather sectional by Natuzzi. So we decide to get it. They say that they have one in the warehouse and they deliver it on memorial day 2015. Two days later I call telling them that there is a lot wrong with this couch. They tell me to call customer service. Well needless to say it has been 9 months and 2 repairman and a lot of promises and stringing us along and we put down $1,000.00 down and took out credit or the rest the couch cost $3,700.00 and it is literally a piece of crap. We got taken by this company and they are not very nice either.

This company is ripping people off! This has been a nightmare. Isn't it enough for someone to be disabled and on kidney dialysis let alone deal with this kind of aggravation too. Please help us the consumers and someone please be a voice for us and I highly urge you to investigate this company "the Dump" for unfair business practices!

Stop and Run, Never Buy Anything From the Dump

LOMBARD, ILLINOIS -- This company sells substandard furniture and beds but charges too much. I purchase a mattress for $1,300 but is real value was probably around 400.00. It didn't even last 9 months. It had body impression two weeks later. Six months later the large form that surrounds the form poked out around the bed and it looked lumpy just ugly. The manufacturer went of business so I was told back into Lombard IL location and select another mattress well, I choose one but it was $100.00 more than what I paid so the manager said "pay the difference or get a refund." This was my way out and ridding myself from them so I agreed to be refunded.

Now here is where the catch comes in, The Dump has a financial company they partnered with for customer which will allow them to purchase but purchase must be paid within 90 days, which I had gone. The Dump says they are responsible for refunding me but Progressive is, Progressive says they paid The Dump. Neither is willing to reach out the other about the refund but wants me to communicate to the other about my money.

Truly The Dump owes as the mattress went back into their warehouse over a week ago, Progressive paid them six months ago, I contacted the Better Business Bureau for help and is reaching out to my local news station about this. As is stand as of today neither has started the refund process. Progressive simply says they won't and for them I understand but the dump-not. Please stay aware from this company. I hope the government shuts them down, after my refund of course.

Leather Sofa

DALLAS, TEXAS -- I bought about $3,500 worth of furniture for my new apartment after relocating. While I have been pleased with the bedroom set and mattress, the leather sofa that I bought turned out to be absolute junk. The only part that was leather was the cushion seat and back faces. The balance of the material is some very cheap vinyl. These surfaces split and separated within the first two months of use. And I am a bachelor with very small demands on such a product.

I have contacted the company and they responded ONCE only, saying that they would work with the manufacturer. I have never heard back from them after numerous emails over the past 6 months. I will never shop with this company again. They do not stand behind their products.

Avoid The Dump

LOMBARD, ILLINOIS -- Every experience is different, but I wish that I'd taken the negative reviews more seriously and not purchased from The Dump. The furniture is beautiful, but, as I'm learning the hard way, is poor in quality. Most of the furniture that was delivered to my home was broken or damaged. The delivery guy was very nice, however, my walls were also damaged by The Dump's delivery personnel.

To add insult to injury, trying to get this matter rectified has been a time-consuming headache and The Dump has made it repeatedly and abundantly clear that they do not care and are not particularly interested in addressing the concern in a respectful and timely manner. It seems like they adhere to a blame the customer model. This was my first and, obviously, last time doing business with this company. I'd advise checking out Art Van or The Room Place before spending money at The Dump. I sincerely hope that your experience turns out better if you do decide to give them a try.

Do Not Shop Here!

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Good morning Mr. **, at 11am Friday morning I found a sofa that I wanted online, showing 1 available in your store. I started calling to see if it was in fact on location so I could see it and purchase. When the phone was finally answered I was on hold over 20 minutes and never did get a sales representative. I drove all the way to the store. Upon arrival at noon I asked to see the sofa. I saw it, it looked great, I wanted to purchase it for the $1299 price listed online.

I was told in store that the website was not accurate and it was part of a set that could not be broken up. I asked if I could just buy it right there on my phone and get the sofa only. I was told the store would take my money and I would likely wait over 2 months only to receive a refund and no sofa. They told me this has happened to customers many times.

I reluctantly agreed to purchase the set. I asked about Acima as I work hard on my credit and did not want a hard credit pull.
After a good bit of waiting and confusion David ** had me enter my information on your terminal. I immediately got a notification form Experian that Syncrony has done a a credit pull! This is inexcusable! I asked to speak to a manager. One of the girls behind the desk said the manager told her there was nothing they could do as it was David's fault not theirs!

We go through the whole process again to do Acima. Once approved for the amount I was told to request I was then told by the girls at the counter that it did not cover the difference and I could not pay cash for the balance. Why was I not told this in the beginning? Why was I told to ask for an improper amount?

For the next hour David tries to write separate tickets while I am waiting. He could not figure out how to make it work. He went into a manager's office while he and I were walking and talking. I greeted her and started to explain all the issues I was having making this the worst buying experience of my 45 years of life. She told me to “get out”. I was so shocked I literally said “excuse me?” and she said get out of my office now. I was floored! This is your assistant manager? I asked her if perhaps my business was not needed and maybe I should just go. She said yes that was definitely the best option! Are you kidding me? A manager treats customers this way? Unbelievable. Even your counter folks were horrified.

As I am leaving, I thought I have now wasted 2 hours of my day and still do not own the sofa I came to buy. Being far more reasonable than your manager I walked back to a very nice gentleman named Malcom. I calmly explained the situation. I asked if the furniture was in stock and could have delivery this past weekend as I will pay cash. He pulled it up, confirmed it was available (not the floor model, which he said would have been discounted) and I would receive it Sunday. HE placed the order and handed it to David who literally had a stack of attempted orders for my furniture that needed to be deleted. I paid at the counter, where those ladies again apologized, and left.

Fast forward to yesterday. I take off work to wait for delivery. And… I get a loveseat only. Not even the piece I wanted. The drivers manifest showed me receiving 1 piece of furniture. He called customer service, they said there was no sofa available! I called the store and hung up after 28 minutes on hold. I let the driver go but did write on the signature page this loveseat is indeed the floor model. I sat on it for 2 hours Friday, I recognize the scratches on the arm. So I am missing the main item, received damaged goods, and have no idea if I will receive a sofa ever.

About an hour later I get a call from your loading dock and they tell me there is only 1 sofa (I assume the floor model) and it will be delivered Tuesday. I said the mistake was not mine and I needed it now, I have no sofa and deliveries are still being made. She said yesterday was out of the question and today's drivers were too busy! To fix your mistakes? Really? Obviously I have low confidence any of this will happen, but will take off work again in hopes I actually get what I paid for. I realize your business model. You are a resale warehouse. You are still not inexpensive and you are still in a customer service industry.

I asked to speak to you on Friday and again yesterday on the phone. I was told both times you were unavailable. Is this how you operate? Is this service you are proud to run? Do you not care about the customers that keep you in business? I will be calling your headquarters again today. I will also file with the Better Business Bureau. I will leave appropriate online reviews every place available. I will make it my personal mission to make sure everyone I know understands exactly the lack of transparency in your advertising, the lack of knowledge in your store, the horrific customer service across the board.

I want a partial refund. I will be missing two days of work. I paid 53.87 for Acima that was run improperly. I paid for delivery for partial items. I paid full price for a damaged loveseat. If I actually receive a sofa it will likely be the floor model. Someone at some level needs to make this right in a very timely fashion. I look forward to your response.

They Do Not Stand Behind Their Products

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Buyer Beware. I purchased an iTwin Cumulus mattress and box spring set Sep 22. The salesperson waited until after taking my money to explain that all sales are final and non-refundable and that warranties are handled directly with the manufacturer. The Dump advertises a 15 year warranty but after talking to the manufacturer (Carpenter Company) it turns out the manufacturer only offers a 10 year warranty. I got a copy of the warranty from the manufacturer yet the store manager has no explanation for the 5 year discrepancy. I'm waiting on a resolution. Good luck getting in touch with anyone at the store by phone. They eagerly pay attention until they collect your money, after that no one takes responsibility for customer service. No resolution as of 10/17/18.

Buying the DUMP products... Think Again!

PA -- Buying the DUMP products… think again! Poor quality products for a lot of money, terrible idea and a complete waste of money. Horrible experience with customer service and their management. Bought $3,100 worth 3 PCS sofa set, top grain leather, etc. Within a week the chair started to show sever signs of the poor quality of the set and within 2 weeks, the chair and entire set looked like a 15 year-old sagging sofa. Phoned customers service & sent them pictures of the entire set and only answer I got was "cannot do anything for you and go hire someone to fix it"

We all work very hard for our money and spending this kind of money for something that you cannot use because of poor quality is completely unacceptable. Do NOT blame the Dump & their management - we are the one to blame for continuing to buy their products - helping them make more money and get rich at our expense!

Horrible! And the extended warranty is a joke!

LOMBARD, ILLINOIS -- I purchased a beautiful wood table from the Dump. I also purchased their extended warranty that I was told covered everything! Any stains, break or anything that could possibly go wrong. The table almost immediately starting leaving white stains from hot plates. In the beginning they were easy enough to wipe off as time went on they have gotten worse and are basically a permanent mark on the table now. I cannot get the warranty company to do anything! When you call them they act all concerned and vow to call you back which of course they don't. Or they tell you to email them with the details and pictures and never respond! I called both the Dump and their warranty company (GBS) again today. The Dump told me I needed to work it out with the warranty company- even though it is their warranty company that they sell you! And the warranty company told me a manager would be calling me back- and of course no one did!

I have this beautiful wood table with white marks all over it. I'm happy to tell everyone that comes to my house where NOT to buy it! The Dump does not stand by their products or their warranty. This table looks horrible!

DO NOT BUY FURNITURE OR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THE DUMP!

Horrible Customer Service / Damaged Furniture

IRVING, TEXAS -- We purchased a dining room table and chairs from The Dump. On the FIRST DELIVERY, the table was badly damaged. They left chairs and rescheduled another day to bring a new table. On the SECOND DELIVERY, the table was again badly damaged. (Again, we're not talking scratched, it looked like it had been dropped from 20 ft onto the corner of the table.) A THIRD TABLE was then brought out several days later, AGAIN badly damaged. We'd been speaking to their customer service department begging them to inspect the table before they came out and of course we were assured they would, but they obviously did not.

On the FOURTH DELIVERY, finally the table itself was not damaged, BUT it was missing 2 pieces needed to attach the legs. The delivery guys thought it was a manufacturing defect at the time, so that one also went back. At last, on the FIFTH DELIVERY it was put together and all looked good. After me taking out 5 days for delivery, and complaining to their customer service dept for an hour, they were kind enough to offer me a $100 gift card to The Dump. Thanks for nothing. If I had been able to locate the table to match the chairs we already had, I would have taken my business elsewhere. I certainly will go elsewhere in the future.

Mattress

TEMPE, ARIZONA -- I purchased a mattress at their mattress sale. It looked great. Within less than 18 months my daughter complained that she was tossing and turning because the mattress was lumpy. I called The Dump and the customer service representative was friendly and said she would email me a claim package. Well, I had sent pics of bed frame, tags on bed, and measurements of the lumps and depressions. After a month they said they needed more pictures. Still waiting for response.

In the meantime my daughter, who has rheumatoid arthritis is sleeping in guest room on mattress I purchased 12 years ago and is still in perfect condition. I had bought a "Italian leather" recliner for what I thought was an extremely good price only to have the leather discolor and split after 3 years. Run away from this place!
