NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE -- STOP, TURN AROUND AND RUN AWAY! DO NOT GO TO THE NASHVILLE OFFICE!!! Let me explain, the front desk personnel are extremely rude. No one explains anything to you about and throughout the process of getting dentures you have to figure it out on your own. I was past my 1 year mark and I called asking when I needed to be fit for my permanent set. They said, "Oh now," and made my appointment. I got my impressions and I did the wax try in and I approved it. I was in love with the way the wax try in looked. I was finally going to have an amazing smile. (So I thought).

I came back 3 days later the teeth was similar but my bite was off. My teeth didn't sit flush. When I would bite down they would roll to the side. So they said since they messed up they would remake them. I went back in I got more impressions and I tried on my 2nd wax try in. Again I fell in love with the way they looked. I approved them, signed the sheet and I came back to get my permanent and they was nothing like the wax try on, I had a overbite and when I bit down I was biting my lip. I finally got back in for a 3rd time. We did the same steps. Did 2 types of impressions and 2 different bites. I again approved the wax try on. I wasn't as happy with these but heck I wanted teeth. I came back for my permanent and the top row was way wider than the bottoms.

The dr kept the top teeth in my mouth. He took a bite impression and did a full plate impression on bottom (with no teeth on bottom and the dentures on top). I went back for wax try on and the top denture is now set in wax (which means they changed the structure of the denture. It was not the original denture they took the bite with). So on this wax try in the bite does not match. (Again they changed the teeth once they out in wax.) The dr now slams teeth down and while he is smiling he tells me they can't help me because I keep changing my bite. They say they will refund me. So I say ok.

They kept almost $1100 and refunded me $700, smiled at me and said have a nice day. I have pictures of the entire process. If I approved 3 wax try on because they fit what happened between then and them making the permanent. They messed up in the back and put blame on me. They screwed me out of money and are smiling about it. Please read reviews before you go here and absolutely try to find another office. This place is a joke and I will do everything in my power to let it be known. It's sad what they do to people. I have pictures of everything. Again if I approved all the wax try on how is it my fault when the mess up happened while they made them. This office needs to take ownership for their mistakes.

Even when they said they was refunding me I never asked for the full amount back. I asked for enough to go to another place who would actually care about the work they do. Keep in mind I do have pictures of the wax try on and of the permanent, they want to put blame on me, but my pictures show the mess ups happened after I signed off on my try insurance (The back lab is the one who messed up). And I was ripped off by/out of $1100.

JACKSON, TENNESSEE -- had all of my teeth extracted on 8/21/18 and temporary full set of dentures made. I was told there would be some bruising and soreness. I did not expect to look like I got the *** beat out of me by Mike Tyson!

After 3 weeks of heeling time I went back to get the dentures adjusted. The day they adjusted them the teeth fit and I felt no pain. The following day they were loose and painful. I also had a headache and jaw pain since the first day of wearing these dentures. I returned to their office to get adjustments and inform them of the continued headache and pain in my jaw a few times per week with same results. Feel and fit okay when I leave and a few hours later they are loose and painful. I asked the attendant and she said that they were not going to be perfect because they were temporary. My response was that they are temporary for a year. I have mouth and jaw pain, a constant headache and I cannot eat with them because they are crooked. Again, adjust and fine and next day back to the way they were.

Again I go back the following day. I had a new attendant and I asked her why they seem fine the day I go in but then a few hours or the next day they are loose and painful again. She said just a minute and left the room. When she came back she handed me CORA CAINE. I had never heard of it before. She asked me not to say where I got it and told me that it is a denture adhesive with a numbing agent in it. They line the denture with it and it glues and numbs and they feel great until it wears off.

After several weeks of complaining of the constant headache and jaw pain with no relief and the ill fit and painful dentures I went to a local dentist for a 2nd opinion. He said that the baseline of the dentures were off and causing my jaw pain and that the lack of depth to the teeth were the cause of the headaches. I went back to affordable denture with this information and they finally decided that they should make me a new set of teeth. I felt so relieved. I have not been able to eat anything substantial, I could not wear the teeth due to the pain and therefore was not able to leave my house.

I go for the fitting for my new set of dentures. They feel fine and seem to fit. This is a Friday afternoon. Saturday morning I was devastated. I put the top in and immediately felt intense sharp pain. There was a spur on the upper pallet. I put in the lower denture and there was 1/4 inch play of front to back movement. The bottom edge of the denture dug into the lower area of both the inner and outer area of my gums.

The following Monday I go to another local dentist. He took one look at the teeth in my mouth and said that there was no way that these teeth were made to fit you 3 days ago. He told me not to wear them and to get a lawyer.

I went back to Affordable Dentures that day and asked for my 100 day 100% refund and they refused. They were going to deduct for both sets of teeth and all of my office visits.

So I asked instead if I could transfer to the Burns, TN office. They agreed. I went to my car and called the Burns office and they made me an appointment and while they were getting my personal info they had a call come in and put me on hold. When the receptionist came back to the phone she cancelled my appointment and told me they were no longer taking transfer patients.

So, today, November 12, 2018, I went to see a lawyer. It has been 90 days now since I had my teeth extracted. 90 days with an intense headache. 90 days with intense jaw and mouth pain. 90 days that I have not been able to eat anything but soup, potatoes, yogurt and the like. Today I find out that the 100 day 100% guarantee does not start until you get your final permanent denture. SO FOR 1 YEAR AND 100 DAYS I GET TO HAVE A HEADACHE, JAW AND MOUTH PAIN, NOT BE ABLE TO EAT AND NOT LEAVE MY HOUSE BECAUSE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WEAR MY LOOSE FITTING, ILL MADE TORTURE DEVICES.

BOAZ, ALABAMA -- I had the more expensive flexible partials made there about two weeks after I had several teeth pulled. The roots had broken off the teeth when the free clinic pulled them. I told the technician this and she failed to tell me that I should wait until the tooth fragments worked their way out of my gums and as a result there is a big gap between the outside of my gum and the denture. Big enough to pack a lunch in when I eat. Then the technician actually moved the mold cup before the mold was set then pushed it back into place.

The lower denture's teeth surface is even with the gum surface making the lower plate essentially flat. I mean there is no white tooth higher than the pink gum material. Not knowing the difference and trusting these so called "professionals," I have worn the partials for 8 years now and my bite is so off that my upper and lower front teeth butt against each other and has resulted in wearing them flat, taking the edge off them.

I have also had three teeth crack and break because of the uneven pressure exerted on them. I went along thinking this was just my destiny and the results of getting older until I recently had another tooth pulled and a real dentist evaluated my partials and explained this all to me. I am having a new set made next week by real professionals and throwing away the junk Affordable Dentures made for me. And by the way, I have never been treated so rudely in such a condescending manner as I was. Don't be stupid, naive, and complacent like I was. Go to a real dentist and get real dentures even if you have to work out a payment plan.

PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA -- Just like your schedule should be if you do business with these folks. I'll get to that later... On my interview/x-ray process I was told everything would be taken care of and there was nothing more to be said about it. The receptionist and doctor re-insured me that I would get everything included with the package I chose. Example : any repairs, adjustments, and even the final dentures that were even customizable were all included for the low price of roughly $2600! There wasn't any implication of time restriction or additional costs. So I said "great: sign me up!"

Next week I came into get my top teeth removed and replaced with dentures. With my check in hand for the top of the line single set denture plan, I was excited! I must admit they were fast after payment was made to get me and and pull the teeth. I believe over-all process from first meeting to actual teeth pulling was less than 2 weeks. Amazing! That's about all the good things I have to say... if you're still with me get ready for the bad news... So the healing process takes time and about 6 months later I walked in (no appointment) and they saw me that day for adjustments to refit the denture. Wait time was roughly 45 minutes.

Fast forward 8 months later. Again : no appointment, or payment required. Fairly quick service this time ~ 30 minutes ish. Need more adjustments because loose denture and I started seeing cracks on the corners of my mouth. A quick Google search showed one reason was incorrectly fitting dentures. When I asked about this the doctor and assistant both shunned my question saying I shouldn't believe everything I read.

Let's look about 9 months later. No appointment or cash needed. Waited an hour and a half before being seen. Now was unbearable, the denture was too loose and I had to get it changed. It was definitely too big and the cracks on the corners of my mouth weren't healing. On more thorough research I found it to be angular cheilitis. So I wasn't taking no for an answer...The assistant agreed and made new ones for me. Excellent!

Fast forward 11 months....Real issues arise. NOW all of a sudden all people seen are by APPOINTMENTS ONLY! Now I don't expect a memo to be sent or even a letter or phone call. But it's the new age. I'm sure as much money as they make they could spend 200$ on a free lance programmer to create a program and make it text message or email all Panama City clients: Hey Affordable Dentures is now going by appointments only! Sorry for the inconvenience of making you drive 30 miles to find this out yourself if that's you! =P O.K. that one was stretching... anywho...

So yep: I'm stuck with my dentures because I am a nice guy and didn't want to bother them, because I know they are busy folks. If you've ever been there, they always have people in the lobby waiting to be seen. I've probably only been to that office, including first exam, 8 times. I never broke my dentures or caused any excess out of pocket cost for them. I only did mandatory walk-ins as needed.

Now they will not give me my finals that have already been promised and paid for. They are saying there's a time limit now that was never explained or ever seen in my contract be neither my wife nor me. They say I paid for a 3 year term, yet they sometimes give people up to an extra 6 months if the doctor approves this. That last statement is straight from the receptionist up front, and I'm sure others have heard this: Which validates my entire story. I've tried to be patient with these folks, now I'm taking matters into my own hands and I hope this helps someone else out there that may be interested in doing business with these folks. Have a great day!

Treated Badly

PORT SAINT LUCIE, FLORIDA -- I called my heart doctor to see how long I needed to stay off my blood thinner to be able to have a tooth pulled. My heart doctor said that I could not go off meds but could get tooth pulled. I called Affordable Dentures in Port Saint Lucie, FL and spoke to lady on phone and told her my condition which she said that they needed a letter from my heart doctor. I asked what was the fax number and doctor name to have my letter faxed to and she gave me that information. Later this woman called and told me that they had received fax and gave me an appointment for April 13th at 9:30.

When I arrived for my appointment, they said I did not have an appointment and they had no fax from a doctor. They did tell me that they would fit me in but later they acted as though I was telling them a lie, or that I called a different office which according to my cellphone, I had the correct place. The dentist talked to me like I was dirt. I was just trying to tell him that I had this conversation with the lady at that office and then I heard the woman's voice and recognized it as the lady that I spoke with on the phone. I did point at her and say that it was her that I had talked to and she yelled at me not to point at her.

So I wound up with my partial getting a tooth put in it as I thought they would pull my tooth but when the doctor's fax came, it still was not good enough for them. I believe that he just did not want to service me by pulling my tooth. I have a partial I cannot wear because the tooth put in there it will not fit in my mouth. I have to say that never in my life and I'm 59 now, have I ever been treated so badly by a doctor. The way he spoke to me in front of everyone in the office and people in the waiting room. I was so taken off guard by that.

I told him that if I hurt someone's feelings that I did not intend for that to be and while I was telling him that, he told me that I was not listening to him and he did not have to service me. I tried to tell him that I was saying sorry. When everyone walked away but one of the receptionist, that person told me that she hated working there because the women there were very mean.

I also am so afraid that my heart doctor may be upset because I was so desperate to have my tooth pulled that I put the dental assistant on my cellphone with my doctor's nurse and she talked really nasty to her. She told my doctor "No dentist worth his weight would accept that fax". Then the dentist told me that he has never had a problem with a heart doctor giving him the note he needed and that they were just after money because they said I would have to have a cardiac evaluation. I told him that I really liked my heart doctor.

Needless to say that I am going to a different dentist. A man who has been in this community for a long time and has a spotless office with people who treat their patients with respect. Charges more, but worth it to be treated right. I have gone to Affordable Dentures for a while because of the pricing but every time I went, new doctor, new office people, but these people at my last time there, they are really nasty. I am also going to contact the board of health because while I was sitting in the dental chair I looked up at the light and it was filthy, nasty with what looked like old spit or blood or whatever it was. It was not clean in my opinion.

As Bad as the Reviews Say

GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I read the hundreds of negative reviews. I knew the risks and still went anyway. Why? The simple truth is I was broke like I imagine most people who use Affordable Dentures are. The total cost to save my teeth was looking to be upwards of 10,000 dollars. I wanted my teeth pulled and Affordable Dentures was my only option due to financial issues.

The first visit was nice enough. The receptionists were polite even if they didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. The only bad experience I had was a very rude lady who dealt with the mountains of paperwork I was filling out. You could clearly tell that she hated her job. With that being said you run into unpleasant people every day and unless you are incredibly thin skinned it shouldn't bother you. It was the least of my problems.

The initial appointment started with a consultation. I didn't actually have anything done that day. The dentist and an assistant came in and gave me the costs as well as explained the process. They were fairly thorough and had no problems answering my questions. At this point I figured that I had maybe dodged a bullet. I was very hopeful that I was going to be one of the lucky ones.

I began to get suspicious when they refused to pull my teeth unless I agreed to buy their most expensive package. Being in a dire financial situation I really didn't have much a choice. The most expensive package isn't what I wanted but it was still far cheaper than getting work done elsewhere. I agreed and signed the necessary paperwork. My next appointment was going to be about a week later.

The next week I came in early in the morning to have my impressions made. This was fairly quick and I was only in the office for about an hour total. The impression taking process was very unpleasant and I gagged the entire way through. I personally don't blame the dentist because I do have a very strong gag reflex. Other than that the whole process was very smooth. So far so good right?

Later that afternoon I came back to have 16 teeth extracted. I got to the office and waited about 30 minutes before I was seen. I got to the back and began injections. After this I went to a full blown panic attack and came close to passing out. The one positive is the dentist who was working on me took it in stride. I wasn't treated disrespectfully and after about 30 minutes the panic subsided and she was able to finish my injections and begin pulling teeth.

Getting 16 teeth pulled is about as pleasant as it sounds. I have had many teeth extracted in the past and this was by far the most unpleasant experience I have had. The most curious thing about this visit was there was NO assistant involved in the actual dental work. The dentist was working alone for the entire time. Maybe this is standard procedure at some places but it felt odd to me. The dentist was VERY rough and borderline careless during the extractions. She had to yank especially hard to remove some of the teeth at the bottom of my mouth. I immediately felt pain despite being numb.

Once the numbness wore off I could not open my mouth fully for days. It took a full week before I was out of severe pain. It honestly felt like she had broken my jaw. I decided to tough it out as I have a phobia of dentists. Once the severe pain was over my jaw was sore for the next two months. I'm fairly certain that isn't the norm for routine extractions.

Once the actual extractions were over they stitched my mouth up and inserted my temporary denture. Now I consider myself a very tolerant person. I was willing to look past the sales pitches, the potentially broken jaw, and the incompetent receptionists. What really set me off is when the denture itself was so poorly made that it would not even stay in my mouth. I knew something was up when the lady who inserted the denture told me that I would need to wear "a lot" of adhesive to get the denture to stay in. Despite the fact that my mouth was swollen and that my gums had not yet receded at all.

Fast forward a few months later and the denture does not fit at all. Even with adhesive it falls right out. I have several family members who have been through the same process elsewhere and they NEVER had these issues with their temp dentures. This is simply shoddy work on their part.

As of now I essentially have no teeth and won't until at least 2-3 months later when I am supposed to return for my "permanent denture". It is incredibly humiliating having to go out in public with no teeth. I returned to ask what they could do and they wanted around 300 bucks for a reline but recommended I just get a new denture made (which they of course wanted to charge me around 600 bucks for). I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They made an awful denture and refused to fix it. Suddenly all of the nightmare stories began to make sense. I kindly told them to screw off and that I would just wait a few months.

Remember when I mentioned the people up front being incompetent? The worst part is that they botched the paperwork with my insurance company and now I owe Affordable Dentures 700 bucks (which I really don't have). I implore anyone who is thinking about Affordable Dentures to listen to what I am saying. If possible save your money and wait. Or perhaps see if you have a family member who can help you pay to get the work done at a reputable dentist.

Always remember that you get what you paid for. You'll most likely have the same terrible experience that the rest of us did if you choose Affordable Dentures. You have been warned and you have no one to blame but yourself if you agree to their scam.

My Experience With Affordable Dentures

ANDERSON, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I started getting my teeth pulled in April of 2013. I had bridges on top where I was getting my dentures. I had 3 teeth pulled and didn't come back until Dec.13. I had 3 more pulled. Then April 2 more pulled. They had discussed with me about the NDWP. I ask what was the difference in that package and the regular way they pulled and replaced teeth the same day. They would give me a temp. denture to wear for a year. I ask what was the difference in the teeth, they said, "you get to choose the color of your teeth, the size of your teeth, just more choices when you choose the premium set of dentures."

I chose the premium which was $830. I gave them $350 to start with 4/2/13. They made me sign a paper while I was in the chair with my mouth numb, agree to the NDWP. When it was time for the last 4 teeth to be pulled they put a set of denture in that was a cover to wear for 1 year. They didn't look for feel like teeth but I wore them and I was back and to, back and to from Martin GA to SC and they never could get these so call dentures to fit me. So I kindly went back and told them that these teeth were not going to work for me and I could not keep driving over here for the next several months.

I told them "I wanted my real teeth soon asap." The nurse or helper went and got Mr. **. He came in and says "So you want to get your real dentures" I replied, "yes." He said, "Well, let's get to it." So they told me to come back the next day and they would have my dentures. I went back and they did what they do. While the helper was cleaning my mouth she told me that I would NOT get a reline on these teeth. So, the teeth was rubbing my gums and I had to go for adjustment. They put powder in and they can tell where the pressure is so they can grind that particular place.

I had to go back a few times and have the same thing done. A different helper come in and she was gone a while to talk to Dr. Evidently they must have ground an area too much, but he was going to make me another set so he did and he ask me how those were and I said they did have suction. The helper brought me a paper to sign saying I would have to pay if they had to make me another set of. That was an insult to me, for I didn't have any control how my dentures were made. I was insulted more than once.

I went back over to see Mr. **. He was mad to see me there I guess. When he put his hands in my mouth he was trembling. He interrogated me for awhile asking me if I thought they were a rip-off and let me know he had been doing this for 15 yrs. I told him I had not said they were a rip-off. I had ask for my money back because he could not fit me. He replied, they didn't give refunds. He wouldn't let me talk so I told him "I don't have to take this from you" and I left.

My teeth don't fit today. I talk like I have mush in my mouth. I hate wearing that glue in my mouth. It keeps them in but not a fit. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I save up $830 so I could get a better quality of teeth which was a LIE. My teeth have abrasion all over them, the front tooth has a chip in it and they don't fit. Affordable Dentures should be shut down in Anderson. There were other people that had as bad of a problems but different. I know people that have to go elsewhere to get dentures that fit. I paid $830 and shouldn't get to keep that money as he gave me defective dentures.

Alveoloplasty and Dentures

ANDERSON, SC -- I went to Affordable Dentures in April of 2016. My teeth were infected down to the roots and had to be removed. I had 3 removed at Aspen Dental prior to this but changed to Affordable Dentures due to pricing. I had 18 teeth removed in May (I had a severe infection in my gums and had to wait for the infection to go away). The Dentist informed me in April that in addition to having all of my teeth removed, I would have to have alveoloplasty performed (reshaping of the jaw bones) on both sides, top and bottom of my mouth so my dentures would be able to fit correctly. The Dentist did not suggest an Oral Surgeon and I do not know if he is qualified (to this day) to perform alveoloplasty. I trusted that he knew what he was doing and I went ahead with the extractions and alveoloplasty. On the pre-op paperwork, I had listed all of my allergies, etc. One of these is being allergic to dissolvable stitching. After he performed the FIRST alveoloplasty, dissolvable stitches were placed in my mouth. This created redness, swelling and more infection in my gums and was EXTREMELY painful. In addition, there were places in my mouth where jagged bones were trying to come through my gums. I went back to the dentist. They had sent me home with Polygrip and my temporary dentures and told me to place the dentures in my mouth immediately. No one told me not to use the Polygrip and I used it as soon as I got home. This made some of the stitches come out when I removed the dentures. Apparently there was a paper with post-op instructions telling me NOT to use Polygrip, but this was not sent home with me and was still in my file on my second visit. In addition, the temporary dentures were extremely too large for my mouth and looked awkward and clearly were the wrong size. This created much pain and subsequent re-fittings did not solve this. All the re-fittings did was to cut up my gums on every visit. Eventually, due to severe pain and discomfort after the attempted re-fittings, the dentist looked at my mouth again and first became angry with me for using the polygrip after the first alveoloplasty and accused me of "picking" at my gums. He was extremely aggressive in his tone and made me feel like all of my pain and discomfort was my own fault. I left in tears at how I was treated and also because I was in pain. He said he would have to perform a SECOND alveoloplasty. So in June I had the SECOND alveoloplasty performed. The nurses, with the exception of 2, all treated me very poorly and were extremely rough with my mouth and dentures. This time, the dentist used regular stitches. These began to come loose almost as soon as I came home. This made the healing almost impossible. The dentist had to re-stitch my gums. I continued to go back and forth to the dentist to have my temporary dentures adjusted and every time they were basically forced into my mouth, creating cuts and scrapes. All during this time, there were places again, where bones were trying to come back through my gums. The dentist looked at my gums after about 2 weeks and then informed me that he would have to perform a THIRD alveoloplasty. Again, his tone was an accusing tone that made me feel like I had done something wrong. It had gotten to the point where whenever I had to go back to the dentist, I would get physically sick to my stomach on the way to the dentist office. It was only after I reminded the dentist that I had a terminal illness and just wanted my mouth fixed AND after I had my boyfriend come back with me to talk to the dentist about how poorly I had been treated by the dentist and most of his staff, that he softened his tome to me. I also had listed my terminal illness on the pre-op paperwork. Apparently this was overlooked, as well. In July, I had my THIRD alveoloplasty performed at Affordable Dentures, by the same dentist who had already performed this procedures 2 times before. My gums were cut open and my jaw bones were grinded down for the THIRD time. (I was awake the whole time during all three procedures.) He stitched my gums so severly and with so many stitches that my gums have places on them now where they are pulling up from the bottom of my mouth and the dentures cannot go into my mouth. After this THIRD procedure, my dentures still did not fit correctly, despite his staff trying their best to cram them in. They eventually agreed that they were not going to ever fit and made a new set. It is now August and the dentures still will not fit. The places on my gums at the bottom where they are pulling upwards hurt. I have at least 5 places where bones are still sticking out and creating extreme pain and discomfort. I eventually went BACK to Aspen Dental for a second opinion. They took x-rays and the dentist examined my gums and have concluded that I need to see an Oral Surgeon for yet a FOURTH alveoloplasty. I went to Affordable Dentures unaware of the reputation of this company and specifically, this office. I weighed 110 prior to April. I now weigh 93. I have lost 17 lbs and am in severely poor health. I just wanted my smile back. I now have to look forward to another painful surgery and months of recovery that could've been avoided if only the alveoloplasty had been performed correctly in May, or June, or July. I want to full refund by Affordable Dentures and will gladly give the dentures back. I now have to figure out how to pay for all of this again and will use Care Credit for this again, if I can get it back from Affordable Dentures. I have learned a painful lesson from all of this. I urge anyone that reads this to pass on to anyone considering Affordable Dentures.
