MT PLEASANT, TEXAS -- I had a trailer custom built by Diamond C. It is a 14K equipment trailer with torsion axles. 1 trip with my 5,000 pound tractor and the axles have failed. Diamond C will not honor their warranty. Thanks Keith **, karma is a **.

Does Not Honor Warranty

MOUNT PLEASANT, TEXAS -- 6-month-old wood deck car hauler - The wood is splitting, warping, cracking, etc. Was told from dealer when I purchased it that it had 2-year FULL Warranty on EVERYTHING including paint. When you go to their website it states 1 Year Structure Warranty. I called Diamond C and the warranty guy rudely said they do not cover the wood because they didn't make it and that the warranty was merely LIMITED to their discretion and that I should have treated it but that it still wouldn't be covered even if I did. My issues...

1) The wood deck of any trailer is a MAJOR part of the "STRUCTURE".
2) Doesn't state "LIMITED" warranty anywhere on their website, brochure, my paperwork or anywhere else for that matter.
3) Brochure clearly states "Treated Wood". Why would I treat wood that was treated?
4) They say they do not warranty the wood because they didn't make it yet they surely didn't "MAKE" the steel they use, the tires, the nuts and bolts or any part of the trailer other than the welds. So how does that make sense?

Attached are 2 screenshots from their website. 1 stating that the wood is "treated" already. And 1 stating that they "stand by their product" as well as 1-year warranty on the "structure" as well is a couple pics of some of the bad wood. Keep in mind this trailer is only 6 months old.

Resolution Update 07/24/2015:

They made it right....
After a 2+ month struggle the nearest authorized service center just replace all the wood deck with pressure treated and sealed wood.
Thanks Diamond C.

SCOTTS MI -- I buy a 6 by 12 2 PSA 2 years ago which I have used a few times and I been having trouble with my brake lights…Diamond C Trailers always brag about the wiring on their trailers and I'm just not happy with mine. In the beginning I thought it was only LED replacement which I assume they last for a short period of time, but new LED replacement and still having the same issue, like I said I'm not happy with Diamond C and I don't know if I still have a warranty for this.

OK Trailer, but Could be Better

I've had reasonable service with this trailer. I only use occasionally, while I store the trailer inside, the paint is all but off the bed, after 7 or so years. It wasn't primed and painted well or this wouldn't be happening. Also the lock on the optional lock box is very low quality. A couple of easy manufacturing changes would go a long way.

Company Response 11/28/2019:

Hi Jack! Thank you so much for your review and thank you for choosing Diamond C. We wanted to reach out and see about potentially replacing that tool box latch for you. If you are interested please contact us through the contact us section on our website and reference the mythreecents review, we will have someone reach out to you.

We would also like to speak to the floor paint for just a moment. We don't paint the floor on wood floor trailers and haven't for many many years. This could have possibly been done by the dealer or if you purchased second hand could have been by the original owner?

Thanks again!

One of the Best Trailers Made

CALIFORNIA -- Have had my 47MD now for a few months and wanted to say how much I love this trailer. It is of the best that I've seen out there and I looked for a long time before making my decision. I have a pre-runner truck with extra wide beams and haven't found too many quality builders that offer a mid-deck like Diamond C. Their paint power coat has held up very well. I don't have a one complaint about this trailer or company, they stand by their product and have excellent communication.

I purchased a single axle utility trailer from Diamond C little over a year ago and far exceeded my original expectations. From hauling fence, yard equipment, and ATVs this trailer has been excellent choice. When it comes time to upgrade to a bigger and better it will be Diamond C.

Terrible Warranty and Quality

MT PLEASANT TX -- I purchased a $15000 trailer, fully loaded with options. From day one have wanted a refund. All 4 axle hubs have been rebuilt, assuming from sitting in water judging from the painted over mud on the leaf springs. Had to properly align the axles, almost 1/2 inch off. Have rewired the charging system in order to charge the battery. Have had to replace the wireless hydraulic controller. Currently have a broken deck board to replace from a missing crossmember.

Will also add diamond plating to strengthen for the future. Am expecting to have to repaint as it is almost falling off and steel feels oily where missing, yes paint and primer both come off. I added over 100 deck screws to hold the untreated wood down flat. Dot bar under hydraulic dovetail needs attention as when it bounces, every bump in the road, it shakes the truck and breaks the marker light off on the end from contacting the beam above the end of it, and last but most importantly, the entire trailer has a twist/lean to it that nobody will even acknowledge.

The dealer has been less than helpful and understandably so, the manufacturer is not really interested in making this right. On top of the manufacturing flaws, poor quality craftsmanship, and product defect, I have 4 different date code tires, 2 different batch/brand wheels, 3 different style valve stems and still have no key to the chain box. Through my replacement part purchasing, personal labor, and the one shop that had time to work on my trailer, I am being reimbursed for strictly hard costs, nothing extra for down time, time picking up parts, lost load money, or overall devaluation for a defective and unsafe trailer.

Hopefully it gets stolen or burns and can use the insurance money to purchase a PJ, Load Trail, or Big Tex, which is what I should have purchased in the first place. I would advise anyone that will tow a trailer more than once a year to buy anything other than Diamond C. They are pretty but looks go only so far as oily brakes can kill people and out of state breakdowns take time away from your kids and family.

Good Trailer - Poor Customer Service

MT. PLEASANT, TEXAS -- I have purchased 3 Diamond C trailers in the past 15 mos. A 32 and 40ft FMAX 210 for work, and a 2PSA for personal use. The Diamond C is one of the most eye-pleasing trailers around, they are great looking and I get compliments all the time. Mechanically, I have not had any serious issues with any of my trailers. I've put approximately 50K miles on my 210 Goosenecks and have had a couple oil bath hub seals leak but that's to be expected. I service the trailers religiously and so far I'm very happy with how they've held up.

My issue is with the employees of the company. Prior to my purchase I did my research and just like every other brand I considered I called with some very simple questions regarding build quality, materials used, accessory options, warranty, etc... As my search narrowed, I made 5-6 phone calls over a two week period and not once did I ever speak with anyone that I felt cared about answering my questions, concerns, or anything else for that matter. I was met with anything from indifference to aggression. After not being at all happy with how I was received, I even wrote a comment using the “contact us” section on their website, hoping it would get to someone in management who cared, but as I suspected, I never heard a peep from anyone from the company.

Had it not been for my local dealer I would have passed on Diamond C for another brand that was more user-friendly. Ultimately, I suppose I'm glad I stuck with Diamond C, I love my trailers, but I'm not very happy that I'm supporting a company who cares so little about their customers, even their loyal repeat customers. After reading some other reviews I can see it wasn't just me, they have a poor customer service history. That's too bad, very nice trailer.

Company Response 01/01/2020:

Hi there USM1811,

Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you so much for choosing Diamond C multiple times over.

We do apologize for your less than desirable experience trying to contact the factory for additional information. Being set up in a distribution model much like most equipment and auto manufacturers, we rely heavily on our dealer network to work with customers when it comes to questions, ordering, warranty work etc. This generally yields a much better customer experience for the retail customer to have one central point of contact for information.

The heart of our company is deeply rooted in caring for our customers. It is part of our DNA from when the founders began in 1985. We continue to push forward to offer innovative designs, high quality products and service to take care of customers. We will sure take this review and build off of it to help ensure the customer experience is enhanced for users such as yourself if they reach out to the factory. Thanks again!

Dump Trailer Issue

I have had 2 bad experiences with Diamond C dump trailers. The first experience I purchased a tandem 7,000 lbs dump trailer back in 2012. The second was purchased in June of 2017 tandem 5,000 lbs dump trailer. Both purchases were made a Flaman Trailers in Nisku. AB. The first trailer started to rust after not even 12 months, the leaf springs tips bend down and wore through the bolts on the connecting shackles.

The shackles from day one were always on an angle and never leveled from one leaf to another, putting all the load on one axle. Diamond C refused to pay for any suspension work. So I told Flaman Trailer to cut the suspension out and put tore flex axles in, which the cost was split between myself and Flaman. As for the low quality paint I got it sand blasted and re-painted. The total cost of my bill was over $5,000 for a 1 year old trailer.

Moving forward I purchased the second trailer in June 2017, why? I wish I didn't, because I like dealing with the dealer that sells them. Less than 6 months of having this trailer the pin at the top of the hydraulic cylinder fell out on the way to the dump. When the trailer was being dumped the hydraulic was now free from the box and was able to push on the cross beam of the chassis.

Before noticing the hydraulic ram bent the cross beam pulling both outside I-Beams, twisting everything in its path. We didn't notice right away because it was an extremely cold day and thought it was just lifting slow. Diamond C said they would ship and I-beam? Thousands of dollars in repair and they want to send $50 piece of steel which would probably cost $300 bucks to ship.

Diamond C warranty department said they had no control over what we did after it left Flaman trailers hands from purchased date. Again no warranty, again Flaman trailer is now fixing the trailer which we are splitting the cost. Seems to be a trend. I would recommend a different brand of trailer.

This is the first review I've done on a product I purchased... First off, I'd like to say that we did our homework before investing into a trailer that we use on a daily basis and that will last us a lifetime. We looked at the top names out there, how the frames were built, types of hydraulic rams that are used, the construction of the bed, basically the best invest for the price. We even went to several dealers of the top manufacturers and at the end of the day... it was an easy choice! Diamond C Trailers produces a well engineered product that exceeded our expectations, and their customer service is top notch! We will definitely be a repeat customer in the near future!
