A nudist stop over from Sandy Hook? This is a must see for "pirate with parrot". He'll thank you for the tip!
BTW, sorry about your experience.
This is a duplicate post by "banjo" containing the same criticisms of the same Portugese diner. Thanks, banjo. But we know. Now, go post your complaint on a new board. All best!

Aha!
I read a long time ago, the best way to judge a restaurant is too see how clean the bathrooms are first. I always check out the restrooms before being seated.
Sorry you had such a terrible experience.
I've heard that as well, Skye. As for me since Mexican food is my favorite "dine out" cuisine, I guage it on the chips and salsa that they hopefully serve before ordering. If they are homemade, I will usually enjoy the entree'.
zzorkk, blech...Usually the chips and salsa are a good enticement, doesn't mean the entree is that good. I once had wonderful "chips and salsa" at a mexican rest., then my quesadilla was filled with generic mixed veg., yep, you guessed it, lima beans, peas, carrots, and green beans. Don
t get me wrong, I'm a fan of veggies, just not what I would want in an "authentic" quesadilla. To fill it with cheap frozen mixed veggies, in my opinion, fell short of the expererience. Having lived in San Diego, I KNOW what I want from Mexican food, and try to replicate all the time, at home, with mixed results.

Are the nudist's dining in the same attire at the restaurant? Yuck,Yuck,Yuck
indeed!
Sounds pretty bad Emt, my theory isn't a 100 percent as I earlier stated. Tell me this, was this restaurant an cozy little "mom and pop" eatery or some large theme type restaurant?
Zzrokk, "mom and pop". I try to stay away from large, theme type restaurants. What really kills me is that I had ordered the exact same menu item in the past, without the veggies added. Don't know why they decided to add the veggies the second time.
That is bad, Emt. Out here there was a place that was voted to have the best green chili around. I hurried over there to try it and it was horrible! I would call it a decent green enchilada sauce next to something out of a can.

Whoa, you ate paella in JERSEY?? All I can say is "what did you expect?" Either find a local Spanish (not Mexican, Spanish from SPAIN), learn to make it yourself, or head on over to Spain because you're not going to get good paella otherwise. Guess you know that now though, huh?
