Office Max Complaint

Lost card and customer service - credit card

Posted By: prgirl on 1/12/2007

Location: Puerto Rico

I have lost my wallet by 2003 with all my personals cards. The only one that I can not have today was the Office Max credit card, after a lot of calls to customer service from Puerto Rico. They never send me a new card, but the account its open in the credit bureau until now 2007.I only made a purchase and paid on time.I am now tryning to find the right contact to close this account but is very dificult to find it, by phone, by internet and also in the store near my town they couldnot help me. I will make a new movement with the staff of the store if they could give me a real number to call or an adresse to write an e-mail. If you read this review , can you help me. THANKS A LOT.

Please contact a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-209-4914. Our representatives are available:

*Brenda*, I think the 1-800- number is what she is refering to as getting no help from Puerto Rico. I had the same problem with Best Buy/HSBC a year ago. I had to do as I described above to get the account closed.

Well, I called that number and it works. I don't have an account so I can't test their customer service. It has an automated menu so maybe it has an option to close your account without speaking to a rep. I like those options, then you don't have to listen to them tell you that you should keep it because it's sooo great. I always request that they send me a letter confirming the closure also.

Question for you tn, if the card isn't through Office Max will writing a letter to Office Max corporate really help any? Shouldn't she write to HSBC?

Anyway here's the link to the e-mail form:

*Brenda*, In my case it was HSBC. However, she asked for Office Max. If it is not them directly they should be able to forward it to the right place. They are who she is dealing with. For the information posted it is possible Office Max has thier own credit system.

*Brenda*, I checked the link you provided and it does appears HSBC does handle thier card. The main point is they make it hard to close an account. Here is thier address:

    HSBC Corporate Headquarters
    2700 Sanders Road
    Prospect Heights, IL 60070

Oh ok, I was just wondering if there was any benefit to writing to corporate if they don't handle their own cards. Thanks!

All company"s go through banks for their credit cards. Are you stupid? Why blame OfficeMax? Read your statement idiot! Who do you mail your payment to? OfficeMax or OfficeMax/someone else?

    Dear Office Max Employee 19,

No one is blaming you for the shortcomings of the company you work for, which are numerous. But your attitude leaves a lot to be desired, referring to "all you stuck-up people."

I worked for Macy's in New York at Christmas many years ago. The department was understaffed and the customer lines were long. There was nobody in authority to vent at, so I took a lot of flack. Finally, I threw up my hands and just walked off the job.

I didn't blame the customers. Who else was there to complain to but me? Same with you: you are the person up front representing the business to the public. If being caught between f ... more >>
