House.com Informative - House.com is poorly run - Real Estate Leads

Real Estate Leads
Review by jdonohue on 2007-06-03
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I interviewed with a jerk from my old home town who made the company sound great! I went through a 3 1/2 day quick tutorial of the company but failed the test required to work there (little did they know the kids behind me had cheated....hope they got their $ from the owner and his gang of rip-off artists). On the way out I was told I would receive my check in the mail.... 2 1/2 weeks later and still no money. The owner is well versed in law suits (I wonder if he owns House.comsucks ?) so my advice to anyone dealing with this "Company" is to stay away. I over heard many people calling to complain....believe me, it falls on deaf ears! If you believe in leads at all you will go elsewhere.

House.com, buyowner.com, housevalues.com and the others in this market have way to many complaints all over the Internet. The only thing that matters to them is getting your money. Once they get your money they forget who you are and do nothing to help you sell your home. Use a local realtor, the extra fee you will pay will be worth it! (no, I am not a realtor)

I looked at the website and have to say all it appears to be is a way to get connected to a Real Estate Agent. Also I find it very handy that they open up the MLS to any user without registration or commitment. I didn't see anywhere where FSBO was being offered.

This company should be put out of business for it's predatory practices. I cancelled after only 2 weeks with them as NONE of the leads they promised me were from my 'exclusive' area. They were ALL from cities away. They will not work with you as far as giving you a refund or even a partial refund. To date, I have spent $1050. with them and have received absolutely NOTHING that I can use.

They do a disservice to us as brokers by sending 'leads' well out and only 'leads' that are well outside of the areas we signed up for, not to mention to the poor people who are trying to find an agent with expertise in the area where they wish to live.

If anyone has had a successful resolution with this company, I would really appreciate hearing from you!

I started a blog about House.com, please participate: housedotcomhater.wordpress.com I'm trying to organize agents against them and identify enough people to submit statements and/or a list to the North Carolina Attorney General's office. You can email me privately at housedotcomhater@live.com We gotta shut these people down.

RE: House.comsucks! I wish I had seen some of these complaints before I became another victim. Why doesn't someone initiate a Class Action Lawsuit? This crook needs to be stopped. I can't believe this hasn't drawn national attention. I certainly am going to make a big stink about it. Pamkay
