I tried to send this on line to Comcast, but I was told to cut it to 1500 characters. How do you reduce 6 months of anger to 1500 characters? 6 months ago, I signed up for your $99.00 special. I was told that since I already was a devoted Comcast cable and phone customer, I could not get the great deal that you offer strangers.

That didn't make sense to me, but I was told it would only cost about $120.00 per month. I signed up and was shocked that I was charged $399.86 the first month and $99.00 just to keep my own phone number. The next month, October 2006, I was billed $140.98 that was $20 more than your slick salesman promised me, but I reluctantly paid it after a call to customer service. In November I was billed $141.46, so I returned my cable box because it only worked on one TV in my house and it was screwing up my wife's taping of the Soaps. I figured why should I pay for something that doesn't work. In December my bill went up to $175.86. I called Customer Service and the guy told me that He would call me back, but he never did. In January I was billed $168.77. I called again, Shante said she would check and call me back, she never did.

In February, I was billed $189.04, so I called Casandra and asked her if she was a responsible person that would call me back if she said she would. She got indignant that I would ask such a question, but she assured me that she would check and find out why my bill is almost $70 higher than what I was promised and call me back. She never called, so I paid $140. The next month I got billed $214.97. I finally got to talk to a supervisor, who was able to tell me that when I returned the cable box to save a few bucks, I was charged $103.07 for bundled services instead of $39.95. He finally reduced my bundled service charge back to $39.95, so that my bill would be $137.47 from now on and he told me it would not go up.

I never had cable and I never will.

If I am watching cable t.v in a hotel room when I travel, I stay stuck in the hotel room.

    CABLE IS EVIL!

I completely understand your frustration, being a former Comcast employee myself, however unlike many I actually treated my customers right, even gave out my direct extension for further assistance so they wouldnt have to explain their problem over and over again to CAE's who either a) dont care, or b) are too stupid to know how to fix anything so they ignore the problem with an "I'll call you back."

Accept my apologies. I wish I could tell you the competition's customer service is better and go ahead and switch, but unfortunately throughout the whole industry it's hit or miss. You've really got to hope and pray that you get somebody compe ... more >>

If have Comcast in CT for over 20 years. The bill has been going up over the 20 years, but that is cable. When they call asking me to transfer my phone service, I even ask them why they keep on increasing my bill? They hang up right away. At least my bill is stable and the same amount most months. Unfortunately the only other company I can go to is AT&T and they are more expensive, Internet cable slower and TV is DISH. No thanks. I am happy with Comcast.

Those fantastic deals are always offered to new customers. The best way to get a deal is threaten to cancel. You get transferred to Retentions where they will do almost anything to keep you. But their offerings will only last 6 months. Therefore you have to call twice a year to keep the deal.

My wife just told me our cable bill (Comcast) was $150/month!!! And we don't have any premium channels... just internet and basic cable! I couldn't believe it. It was not that expensive last year... but since we pay online through a 3rd party site, we never see the details of the bill. We are now trying to find out where we can get an itemized copy of our bill. I know when I signed up, the internet service was an extra $44.99/month. So that means they are charging me over $100 for basic cable?

My triple play package bill is different every month too. It's a pain to sit on hold & wait for customer service to explain the itemized breakdown only to be transferred to someone else. I've learned to just call back & sit on hold when I'm not satisifed w/the first CSR I've talked to but jeez, I have to do this EVERY month to get the correct billing amount.

I'm happy to see that someone at Comcast reads My 3 cents, because I got a reply from Carl G., a Comcast Online Customer Support person. He suggested that I call again and ask for a supervisor. I did that and then sent him the following account of some more frustrating events after I took his advice:

Thanks Carl, but I was only more frustrated. It took me 2 minutes to get to talk to somebody, then it took me another 25 minutes to get him to put me through to a supervisor. I started to read the letter to a supervisor and my phone went dead half way through. I never got his name. I was so upset that I had to go through the whole proces ... more >>

was there ppv's or extra charges ( 411, 900 #'s ect) on your bill? did you pay your install fees up front or have them added into you 1st bill? comcast bills 1 mth in advance so it sounds like the 1st bill is 1 mth ahead, current mth prorated and install fees. You also are going ot have taxes and fcc fees on your bill evey mth. a 120 a mth rate is probally going to be 145.00 or so with taxes and fcc fees.
