Online Jewellery Auction
Review by Aussie Shopper on 2007-09-20
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA -- Recently I bid and won an item of jewellery at a very low price. When the item arrived it was different than the item described and pictured on the website. I arranged an RMA # to return the item but just before I sent it back the picture on their website of the item I won had been changed to the item I actually received. This concerned me as if you send an item back that is "as described" they charge you a 15% restocking fee and don't pay return postage.
I emailed Bidz to see why the photo changed and if I would get the correct item once returning the wrong item. Bidz either ignored my questions or gave conflicting answers which confused me. I complained on Ripoff Report and then on LABBB and Bidz customer service. Bidz kept saying that I would have to return item before they could investigate and did not properly address my other concerns. As I persisted with the complaint they began to tell untruths about me, I believe this was in an attempt to discredit me with the readers of those websites.

This company's policies and attitude to customers is in my opinion disgraceful and I would not recommend dealing with this company. Their customer service is not only the worst I've ever experienced but they also become very untruthful and unprofessional if things don't go their way. This company in my opinion is BAD NEWS!

When ever winning bids at eBay, Bidz.com or any auction site you need to print out everything from the auction. Pictures, descriptions, terms, the works, everything. In todays world of everbody getting ripped off it's a sad way to have to do business or protect your self but it's just the way things are now. So many companies will screw over the customer in a heartbeat because it's all about the money now.

Thank you for the good advice but in this case I had all the printouts plus I have the transcripts of all Live Help Chat sessions that prove I was very polite to the Bidz staff. Unfortunately it just isn't worth the effort to take legal action especially as I am an overseas customer of Bidz and my actual identity was not revealed by Bidz. I have heard from other reports that when items are won at very low prices, Bidz commonly say the item is out of stock or send the wrong item and only refund your money. I think that what might have happened to me as they still haven't given a reason the item is out of stock or why the photo was changed on the website after I advised the wrong item was received.

Aussie, they have very little quality items left and if it's worth anything, it's on reserve price. Their last quarterly report came out on March 11 and they suffered another big loss, folks are dumping their stocks like mad. They are no longer able to acquire anything but cheap junk jewelry, hence the added clothing lines. The only things left worth anything are Calgaro and Zoccai styles from a few years back and outdated sunglasses. I think they are going BUST. If they can't bring in decent pieces, they won't make it on the plastic, mystery metal junk that has swallowed that site.
