Virgin Atlantic Airways Informative - Cancellation fee

Review by jt23 on 2007-10-16
SAN FRANCISCO -- Shame on you Richard Branson. I thought you knew better. Charging me $40 for canceling my $39 SFO-LAX flight was beyond the pale. That means I gave you $160 for nothing. Nothing. Southwest Airlines at least gives customer credit, Jet Blue doesn't rip me off the way you do. I was so excited about your SFO-LAX route since I travel it at least once a month.

Now, nothing. I feel nothing for you. I can't believe the audacity.

How does $39 and $40 add up to $160?
Posted by Lidman on 2007-10-16:
Super, just think about for a while...

39 -40 + 40 * 2 carry the 4 and add 7 -9 then get the square root of pie * 3.14 - 12 and there u go..

OK, now that you made it clear I got it now. Stupid me.

I think you were just thinking of the Virgin in Atlantic.

You know if I was Muslim and died in battle I would get 17 virgins when I got to heaven. I think they are onto something there?

Super, check out Lid's blog archive and you'll see who those 17 virgins are.

I forgot he posted that, that is a great pic!

$40 to change or refund a ticket is much less than the industry standard of $100 to change with most fares being nonrefundable. Southwest is the exception to the rule. Feel free to fly them instead.

4+7+6+3+8-5-2-7x32+6=x-y+96.5= $ 160.00

If it cost more to cancel than the ticket cost originally, why did you pay to cancel it? You would have lost $39 by not using it, now you paid $40 more to not use it.
