Chicken Of The Sea Complaint - Van Camp's Chunk Light Tuna In Water - Chunk Light Tuna

Complaint
Review by Magickhart1976 on 2007-10-22
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- I was extremely upset with this product. First, it was unbelievably WATERY. I had to open 2 cans that should have equaled 1 can. Second, I had found SEVERAL BONES. Third, there were FISH SCALES in it!!! What kind of product are they selling here?? Yes, I understand it is a generic brand, but please!!

What I had opened seemed ok for CATS… NOT PEOPLE!

I buy the tuna in the packets rather than in the can. There is less liquid and the tuna tastes fresher. It's a little more expensive, but I get more for my money.

It's a sad fact of life that undesirable parts of fish may go undetected during processing. Btw, while "Chicken Of The Sea Tuna" isn't a "high end" brand it is not "generic" either.

My GF says Chicken of the Sea is nothing more than tuna slurry. She too started buying it in packets and only white albacore. I give this review two thumbs up.

We also buy the packets, they are easier to store and you get more for your money, Starkist is still my favorite and I usually get a good deal on it with coupons I get in the paper.

Only buy solid white albacore in water from any brand. Costs a little more, yes, but instead of 1-2 sandwiches, you'll get 3-5, depending on how big they are.

We but the packets as well. They do seem fresher.

Wow... Allot of responces!
We have to watch our spending so I try to keep things as cheep as I can. The brand I had gotten was VANCAMP'S and is made by Chicken of the Sea... It is sold in Dollar General stores as a cheeper brand that goes only for $0.60 per can. So much for cutting the cost for tuna... Never again! Thanks everyone!
