I recently had the misfortune to contact
Vonage about obtaining their "(60)-day free trial," which was not free because they immediately charged my credit card a $41.89 = $5.00 connection/service fee.
Within an hour I called back to cancel the order because Broadband Internet
Service (a requirement for
Vonage service) was not available.
I took one hour and fifteen minutes, several hang ups, and finally screaming and yelling at their various
Customer Service Representatives to get the to agree to cancel the order. Which incidentally they promised to verify by email (which never came). I ended up having to dispute the charges through my credit card company and filing a consumer complaint through the FCC. No matter what savings you think you might get in switching to Vonage, please keep my experience in mind.
