Harassing Phone Calls - Auto Loan

Wells Fargo is the worst auto financing company I have ever dealt with. When I established my vehicle loan I set up auto withdrawal. In reference to my very first payment: My payment is due on the 17th. The collections department calls on the 18th 5 to 6 times a day. I speak with them and realize that they have not set it up, I go through the steps to do so AGAIN and call back.

I am then told that won't now take affect until the next month. I go back online and make an instant payment. I call back with the confirmation number and ask that they stop calling my work number and only call my home number in the future.

I am told that I will be removed from the calling list and they will verify my payment is received. I receive 9 to 10 calls the next day, once again at work. I "catch up" this new rep and they state the same thing. An hour later I receive another call and after dealing with a rep that told me I should just pay my bills on time and numerous other comments I ask to be transfered to a manager. After speaking with the manager I am told that the situation is taken care of and they will not call again. Needless to say this goes on for almost a month. We are reaching the point of my next payment being due, they are telling me that they can not track their confirmation numbers at all and my payment has not posted. They then continue to tell me that on the next payment date they are going to take out 2 payments to catch the account up. Regardless of the fact that I have the confirmation number and have faxed them copies of my bank statement showing that the funds cleared my account weeks ago for the initial payment.

One night when they called I decided that this was going to end once and for all. After 3 hours on the phone and being transfered from person to person to person they notify me that they posted my payment to someone elses account.

    Since they have demonstrated to you their inability to handle auto pay properly you need to send them a check with the account number on it 10 days before it is due each month. This will produce a paper trail completely outside their control.

    I realize electronic payment is easier but in this case you should not use that method.

    The calls are all automated now, there is no human being on the line till you answer. The problem is getting out of the auto dialer program they are using. Hope it all works out for you and you do not get a ding on your credit because of this.

    I just financed a car through wells fargo, They sent me my first statement which stated due date of july 11th, should have been june 11th I paid early of $185 and was going to pay the balance until i recieved this statement the statement also states principle and interest payment, which i did not make so i called and was told that they will call me back, I called again and now they call every 20 minutes and ask you to hold! i dont think so! I thought it had something to do with the dealership. I am going to try and find a fax number which i wrote every call i made to them then go refinance with my other bank.

    Let me say this -- 3 days after a payment is due -- they will call at LEAST 5 times a day --- I will NEVER ever work with Wells Fargo Auto Finance again and am now looking to find a loan to pay these idiots off -- it is insane. I have never had a bad reputation paying any bills late and it shows on my credit report -- 3 days -- ?? I know it's late by 3 days but they harrass you in 3 days and don't EVER STOP until about 2 days after you pay them online -- it's insane and it won't happen again. I'm off to find a loan NOW to pay these "razzle schnazzle" people off.
