Very Poor Service. I plan to visit every site I can and poorly rate your product and service because of what has happen.

I bought my washer in Sept 07. It stopped working in December. The repair service, "All Star", came out and said I needed a timer, motor and transmission. I waited 3 weeks and had to get one of the parts myself from Maytag.

The service was rescheduled for January 10th. All Star came back out and said they were not going to replace the transmission they ordered because it was too difficult and while trying to replace the timer, they broke the knob on the appliance. Upset with the situation I called Maytag and spoke to a supervisor. I explained the circumstances and told them I have waited all this time, they sent out a horrible service technician, the appliance was only 3 months old and should not have all these problems. I explained I already had to take off two days of work and I requested a new replacement washer.

What do you they said. SORRY WE CAN ONLY SEND OUT SOMEONE TO REPLACE THE PARTS. Who cares I have to take off another day of work or that this machine had major problems after only 3 months.

To top that off, when I asked to speak to the supervisor above her, I was told I would have to write a letter. I guess the supervisor's supervisors are afraid to talk to unhappy consumers. As a side note the reason I went with Maytag again, is because my first one lasted 20 years.

I will never buy another Maytag product and plan to submit this information to every consumer review site on the web I can. I hope my efforts with spreading the word about this helps prevent another consumer from going through what I have had to experience. I would like a response to this email so I may post Maytag's answer with my above comment so the consumers can judge for themselves whether or not to buy from Maytag.

are you sure this "all star" was not A&E service? It sure does sound like their MO.Horrible service, incompetent technicians, having to wait forever to get parts, and service

Sorry Steve, this time it doesn't look like we can blame it on A&E, there is a Allstar in that area.

Joe, You have other servicers in your area, go to www.whirlpool.com and find a servicer in your area. As Steve mentioned it would probably be in your best interest to avoid A&E.

It is highly unlikely that the timer, motor and transmission all went bad on a 3 month old washer. After you get the washer repaired be sure to report All Star to whirlpool, ask for contact information for the area field service manager.

Good luck, and sorry to say but there are some worthless independents out there also.

I think it's about time that people like you stop whining about the customer service that one repair man gives you. Do you think you are the only person that's had bad service? People like you must have nothing better to do then sit online and surf from site to site just o slander the name of the biggest appliance comany in the world? Get a life and if you hate Maytag so bad don't buy it anymore. And another thing? did you once ever stop and think about returning the appliance to the store where you bought it? i've heard horror stories about certain retailers who have been selling used or refurbished appliances and not brand new ones. Whats t ... more >>

I have to agree with Joe - Maytag customer service is BAAAAD.

As far as returning the appliance to the store - well, our retailer (Home depot) won't take back our refrigerator without Maytag's approval. We tried. It didn't matter to them that we've already had it "repaired" five times in the first month of ownership - until Maytag authorizes the return, they won't take it back.
