Hastings, NE is a city of 28,000. A&E services ALL brands, not just Kenmore so service calls aren't just for people who have Kenmore Dishwashers. If you can answer the following questions, people on this board can help you.
1. What is the model number? (Look on the inside and type it in. It'll be 665. or 110. or whatever - just give us the entire number.)
2. When did you purchase it?
3. Did you purchase a Master Protection Agreement?

Sears complaints are old news to the people of this site. Sorry you had to deal with this. Maybe the word will eventually get out that Sears aint what they used to be. They don't even resemble the same company.

Model number is not needed, the unit was manufactured by Whirlpool, but age would come in handy. It is not uncommon for the sump screens to become pluged up and if they only replaced the pump/motor assembly instead of the complete sump assembly the screens are still pluged. As for the other new problems, they were probably caused by the repair people not properly reassembleing, ie, wire off of the thermistor or turbidity sensor.
The bottom line is because it is a Sears branded appliance you are pretty much stuck with the inept service people provided by Sears/A&E. If you yell and holler enough to Whirlpool they may send a cost exceptio ... more >>

Actually, the low end Kenmore dishwasher units are manufactured by Frigidaire. Frigidaire also manufactures ALL of Whirlpools TOP FREEZER refrigerators.
|
Mario, for a Sears guy you still don't know too much about your products. The poster stated that the dishwasher is a "Kenmore Quietguard", not a low end. Whirlpool top freezer models are manufactured by Whirlpool, but the low end Kenmore top mounts are manufactured by Electrolux. I'd bet you also think that LG stands for "Lifes Good"
|
QA, for someone who isn't a Sears guy, neither do you. Virtually all of Kenmore dishwashers now have QUIETGUARD somewhere on the front. Even the ones made by Whirlpool or Frigidaire (Electrolux) say it. If you look at the model #'s for the dishwashers (587.16252, 587.15248), they have QUIETGUARD stamped on the front and are made by Frigidaire. 665's are Whirlpool. Effective 7/01/07, ALL Whirlpool TOP FREEZERS are made by FRIGIDAIRE/ELECTROLUX. LG doesn't stand for Life's Good?

All I know is that 76% of the people on this site
rate sears one star , which means they don't like sears.
When you buy a Sears appliance , they use to include a detailed schematic of every part that was in the product you bought. Why did they stop?? Please don't tell me to look it up on the internet , or go to sears and look at there slides of parts.
|
I looked at the parts breakdown on every top mount Whirlpool refrigerator on the Sears web site and they are all are put together with Whirlpool parts and are therefore manufactured by Whirlpool. If you have ever changed a part you would see that there is a big difference between Whirlpool parts and Frigidaire parts. If I remember correctly a while back you stated that a Kenmore bottom mount was also manufactured by Frigidaire, you were wrong then also. If I ever do go into a Sears store it is fun to mess with the appliance sales people, They get all confused when you ask who made the Dish Drawer.

Fisher Paykel :)

Not any more.

Mario:
just what is it your great at, You and ,Hello Dolly
give so much misinformation , I just have to shake my head

Ninny, Mario and Dolly only know how to read out of the sales manual.

I made no comment on the repair of this dishwasher because QP seemed to have covered it well. As for who makes the dish drawer for Sears (Kenmore Elite)that would be Maytag. The top mount fridges(again Kenmore 253.xxx)- Fridgidaire. The bottom mount used to be Amana but could now be LG as well. The trios are made by several different vendors but if you look at the style it is easy to figure out. Samsung/GE are getting into the market with a 4 door fridge - not misinformation just fact.
But Mario is correct that the dish drawers were originally introduced by Fisher & Paykel almost 10 years ago. Lowes was the first major retailer to carry t ... more >>

Oh I almost forgot you are right Fridgidaire = Electrolux. Whirlpool and Electrolux are 2 entirely different companies but there are multiple parts that can be used no matter the manufacturer. The one that comes to mind most often is a water valve.
GE - most expensive Whirlpool (FSP) - least expensive
This seems to hold true whether for fridges, dishwashers or washing machines. Although some of the new washers have been designed with specialty valves not allowing this kind of swap. Again Ninny not misinformation just a FACT.

My first strike will be at QA:
1. QA, you are a moron. While you rely on your "years" of putting together appliances, you fail to realize that things change. I could care less that a part for a Kenmore refrigerator comes from Frigidaire and is stamped Whirlpool. The fact is: Last year, Whirlpool agreed to let Frigidaire make ALL of their top freezer refrigerators.
2. Last year, the new Kenmore Elite dishwasher drawer was announced. Who made it at this time? Fact: Fisher Paykel Oh and thanks for the follow up - "not anymore" - lol.
3. I will be the first person on here to tell you that I haven't any clue about putting tog ... more >>

Yeah Pirate but it must do your heart well to witness such passion for appliances.

Mario
I love that bit about first strike , but your showing a lot of anger.
1- 4 I have no comments on
5 I have been a leader all my life, six years ago I stopped shopping at Sears . Yes Mario I made that decision all by myself. Well, Not really Sears actually helped me decide.
For the following reasons.
Lack of customers concerns, poor quality control , untrained salespersons and Poor delivery and especially poor , in home parts replacement people.
Sears caused a lot of these problems , by cutting jobs and benefits and when you start treating the people who work for you like s**t , then this is the kind of company yo ... more >>

Ninny, you think I'm angry? LOL...Have you looked in the mirror? I'm betting that you are the type of person that gets all emotional when something doesn't go their way. Can't you live life not being bitter about something that happened 15 lifetimes ago, not to you, but to someone you heard about? I'll bet that the bitterness with any company you post about lays within NOT your personal experiences, but within the experiences of all of your buds who complain about life everyday. Let's see what happened this year that you haven't posted about but I'm sure gotten emotional about:
H&R Block cuts 500 jobs
Home Depot cuts 500 jobs
Whirlp ... more >>
