Piss Poor Billing And Customer Service - Customer Service/Billing Practices

Location: columbia, SC

First off, never give Direct TV your credit card number. They will make their unauthorized withdrawals against your account for early termination fees. I live in an apartment complex. Direct TV (with their professional installation) installed their dish. Said he knew where and how it needed to be installed.

11 Months later with new management I was told the dish had to be relocated. Well relocation left me with no line of site due to positioning of apartment. So we were forced to cancel service. Not my fault it wasn't installed properly why should I have to pay early termination?

I have talked to at least 20 representatives with no documentation with on going problems. You never get the same rep. So how can they help? I hope with enough bad information someone can step up and shut these half cocked TV pirates off.

    "never give Direct TV your credit card number", or bank account info. They will take what ever they want when they want to take it. Were you aware that they slapped a two year contract on your back? DirecTV may have a great TV signal but they are bottom feeders the way they treat people.

    I don't see it's DTV's fault your apartment mgr. told you you couldn't have a dish there - you should have checked first with them. This one's on you.

    superbowl is dead on! TV service is great! Customer service is at best non-existent. At worst they are deceptive, lying, despicable, low-life, money-grubbing, scum bags! Wait - I think I have said this before.

    If the original management gave approval of the dish, how is it DTV or the installer's fault that new management doesn't like it and wants it down? The dish was installed properly, but neither you nor DTV could have predicted that the new property management would want it changed. If the new property management is unwilling to work with you, you're going to have to accept the cancellation fee. A copy of your customer agreement was sent to you after the service was activated. They wouldnt be able to offer discounts on programming and equipment if there wasn't some kind of guarantee that you would either keep your service or pay them an early t... more >>
