I recently received a bill for a missing
cable box from
Cox Communications. Having proof that I did not have that cable box, I called the company. I was told by two different customer representatives to take that receipt to the nearest support center to resolve the issue. I drive an hour to the nearest center and they cannot help me.
My issue takes place in Virginia and now I live in Connecticut. Even though they are all part of the same company, they cannot exchange/fix/access any information from a different state.
So I ask, "Why did they send me here?" The rep had no idea. I immediately get on the phone again to try and resolve the problem. After 45 minutes of a representative going through backlogs, work order history, etc she decides I am absolutely right. In fact Cox owes me money and apologizes for any inconvenience. Eventhough the problem seemed resolved I kept receiving phone calls daily about the money I do not owe and letters in the mail threatening to report me to the credit agencies. I keep calling Cox to see what is going on. They assure me that their computers say there is no issue and that the money they owe me should be sent out shortly. Still a week later, no money, more harassing phone calls and letters. I call again to complain, they reassure me I have nothing to worry about and have now put my number under the "No Call List." No less than 3 hours later another harassing phone call.
No one can seem to fix my problem and most of them don't even know themselves why this is happening.
