MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD DIRECTV FOR A WHILE NOW AND SINCE THE VERY DAY THAT WE GOT OUR DIRECTV TURND ON IT'S BEEN HELL!!!!
FIRST THEY LIED TO US AND SAID THAT WE WOULD RECIVE A BILL WITHIN FIVE WORKING DAYS AND IT DIDENT COME TILL TWO MONTHS LATER AND THE BILL HAD BUILT UP SO MUCH THAT WE HAD TO START MAKING PAYMENT ON THE PAST DUE.....
WHEN WE CALL AND TALK TO A SUPERVISER NO TWO SUPERVISERS SEEM TO AGREE ON WHAT THEY CAN AND CANT DO!!!!!
THEY HAVE LIED TO US ABOUT OUR BILLING!!!!
THEY HAVE POSTED OUR PAMENTS ON OTHERS ACCOUNTS!!!
NOW THEY HAVE TURNED OUR SURVICE OFF BECAUSE THEY LIED TO US ABOUT THE TIME AND DATE OUR BILL WAS DUE AND EXPECTED US TO PAY FOR A BILL THAT WE HADENT SEEN YET!!!!
ALL IN ALL DIRECTV SUCKS AND NOW I HAVE A WORTHLESS DISH AND TWO SYSTEMS THAT I HAVE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR AND I CANT USE THEM!!!!!

So you're saying that DirecTV deliberately didn't want you to pay your bill. You know, because they're not in it for the profit, they just like to mess with people like this.

Directv is the worst company I have ever dealt with. We cancelled our service in July of this year after them telling us we would be able to get network stations which we were never able to get. We were charged a cancellation fee, fine. We just received a bill for the cancellation fee last week. It said it was due 10/9/04- okay. I mailed a check 10/2/04. Today, 10/4/04 I receive a call from a collection agency! When I called Directv to ask how I could be in collections when the bill was not due until 10/9/04, 2 people said it was their error, the Shavonia Thomas, Supervisor, gets on the phone and says it isn't an error. Really, so you not reciving your bill is somehow DTV's fault. What more dothey have to do then put a the bill in an envelope and bring it to the post office?
What you should have done is called DTV in 10 days and asked your balance and paid that!

They should have charged you what they did (assming YOU are right) after all when you recieve a service and are not paying for it, wouldn't it strike you to call DTV to ask why and how you can make sure you're paying what you owe?

We made a choice to change over to Directv per a conversation we had with them over the phone. Which at that point seemed like a great idea as we would be saving money.

1. To begin, we were told that we can have a friend refer us and we would both receive a $50 rebate as a result. The Installer who was called us for scheduling, advised us that we need to call Directv direct in order to receive this rebate. Upon calling on the day of installation, we were told this is no longer possible as the service had already been activated an hour earlier.
