NCO Financial Systems Complaint

You be the judge - Add me to that list

Today,(3/2/4) after receiving their stupid Voicemail calls, I returned a call. I proceeded to tell Miss Jessica Banks that I just discussed this account with Verizon on Saturday. I was informed that NCO no longer had possession of this account. It had been transferred out to another collection company.

I made payment arrangements directly with Verizon - the original creditor to send the outstanding amount with this months current charges. Account taken care of. NOT!!!
I informed Miss Jessica that I have made payment arrangements directly with my original creditor and that her collection services will no longer be needed. She proceeded to tell me that I don't have the ability to tell them to stop because their contract is not with me but with verizon. And that she wouldn't need to contact me if I weren't being lazy and not paying my bill. At that point I raised my voice and said "alright you need to stop. I am simply contacting you today to notify you that I have made arrangements with the original creditor and that I will not be doing any business with NCO. You need to cease and desist trying to collect this debt." She said until Verizon contacts them and removes my account from their possession, I can expect to hear from her every day at 4:30. Let me remind you, that just this past saturday, I was informed that NCO was no longer in possession of this account. I told her that I am requesting that she no longer contact me in attempts to collect this debt. She informed me that they weren't not a telemarketor, you can't just ask us to stop. I said I just did. I will be sending you a letter to that fact.
I contacted Verizon and informed them that I will not do business with NCO. If they choose to send my account to anywhere in the world that's fine but they will not receive payment from me through NCO.

    Pay your bills..

I personally feel that was totally uncalled for on your part. As stated, the account is being paid directly to the company. I am assuming that you are an employee of NCO, primarily due to your automatic rude response. Would you suggest that a let's say a mother of 3 prostitute herself in order to make sure the NCO bill be paid the instant the call is received? I personally suggest that everyone who has to deal with NCO, start turning the tables. Call them everyday and demand they comply by the Laws governing collection practices. Then hang up. I'm sure you deal with hard people everyday. But if your son were diagnosed with a life threatening ... more >>

Wahinfo - I've been wanting to comment on your response for a while, but have been busy debating this sweetie from NCO (Allegedly) and have been neglecting people like you who are kind enough to post support for things I say (My ego loves that), and in support of other people abused by this company. I made a comment earlier today in another post about NCO wanting everyone to believe that the money you owe them takes priority over all else. They can be really mean about things in order to make you agree with them on that - but always remember that they take a backseat to EVERY other bill you've got. You know that - I know that, and we need to ... more >>

Allegedly? Have I failed to prove myself :(

I believe you. It's second nature to me...I'm sure you can understand. Everything is alleged.

    DebtorBasher (03/12/2004)
I do understand that. And it's true, that really is a second nature to all attorneys I know.

I try to turn it off when I go home; Especially when arguing with my significant other - you'd be amazed how intensified an argument can get when I say "alleged", ohhh...bad news for Mad Eye.

Perhaps it would help if you undertand that you can't just say, "This has been taken care of, stop calling me." Collectors hear that from just about every person we call. We ask for something in writing to prove that indeed, this bill was taken care of and you aren't just trying to get out of it. Many of our clients are terrible about not reporting changes to an account, so unfortunately in the 60-90 average days it takes for the creditor to tell NCO anything, you will recieve calls from collectors (who think you're being evasive and lying before the call begins) and treat you as such.

That's a great point. However - some people are horrible at keeping personal records (Like Me), and may not have that documentation. Which means simply that you have to call the original creditor and have them provide documentation. (Sometimes that's like pulling teeth)

It is up to the debt collector or their attorney to prove everything.
