Stamps.com is a postage meter alternative that lets you print postage using your home or office printer. After downloading the software and configuring your printer, you can print postage, envelopes and more for your mail and packages.
I have been using Stamps.com online postage for two years for my small business. I chose Stamps.com because they offered a free digital scale and discounts on postage, including up to 11 percent off on Priority Mail and 5 percent off Express Mail. They also have First Class International postage – something that Paypal didn’t offer me. Additionally, printing postage using Stamps.com allows me to bypass the 13-ounce rule at the post office, which means I still can mail larger packages without having to go to the post office.
The only issue I can remember having at the beginning was that I thought Stamps.com “no-risk trial” was a free trial. I had to have a customer service representative explain it to me, but once they did, I didn't have a problem with it. Stamps.com's online postage has been such a time-saver for me that I'm willing to overlook that one glitch.
I recommend Stamps.com to any small business owner, particularly one that does international shipping. I truly believe that this is where the future of the U.S. Mail is going – a convenient, flexible service that doesn't take up my time and helps me through my mail needs easily and efficiently.
