Circuit City Complaint - Taken for Granted - Electronics

Electronics - Complaint
Review by DAA on 2009-05-14
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE -- I have encountered a Circuit City circumstance that smacks of fraud. I purchased an item during it sale only to discover at the counter that it would not be returnable. This occurred after that stampt the purchase, not before the purchase was made. Of course the item did not work. I return the item, trusting that Bank of America would assist me with the bad deal. They would not help me. Now I have no merchandise and the money went to the liquidators (who no one can find). Moral of the story - do not trust anyone who is going out of business.

well duh... and I apologize in advance, but they are OUT OF BUSINESS. You just helped knock Memphis up a little on the stupid Southerner scale.
Thanks a lot.

That is the nature of liquidation sales. There are no returns. The only thing you have is the manufacturers warranty.

Liquidation sales are usually no bargain. The "discounts" are based on MSRP not the price that Circuit City was selling it for.

My friend hauled me to the Circuit City liquidation sale several times and there were HUGE signs all over the place that all sales were final. Therefore, I have no sympathy for your plight.

I have to agree, it's common knowledge, liquidaton sales are always final, buy at your own risk, that's why s*** is so cheap...HELLO! going out of business means we aren't going to honor returns because we won't be hear anymore...LOL

What product did you purchase and did you attempt to contact the manufacturer?
Posted by jktshff1 on 2009-05-15:
Did I not predict this was going to happen?

Actually this is not really a southern thing, and I am ashamed for you. Stupidity knows no geographical, racial,or gender considerations. In the words of Ron 'Tater Salad' White, "You can't fix stupid." jkt, I think you owe southerners an apology. Other than that, you were spot on.

I love Ron White..he has the sexy accent thing going on and he definitely shows that just cause people talk w/ a drawl doesn't mean they are stupid.

LMAO Jkt. That was awesome.

Of course all purchases made in a liquidation sale are final. There will be no store to return them to, and the liquidation company is calling the shots.

And liquidation companies aren't known for their customer service anyway. Sorry, you're out of luck.

dang. I don't even watch tv and I knew that Circuit City was going out of business.

So um.... yeah, you can't yell at them for not taking returns when they aren't going to exist anymore.

O_o

I know starlord,it's not a Southern thing, STUPID is world wide, but the Memphis posting is what led me to that.

Maybe if you find out who the liquidation company is, you should write a complaint to them. I'm sure you'll get some great results.
