Kraft Foods North America, Inc. Complaint - Kraft Real Mayo ( Not Real Anymore) - Kraft Real Mayo

Complaint
Review by saltwateranglin on 2009-05-17
Remember when Coca Cola came out with New Coke. Looks like Kraft has just done the same with the great mayonnaise that many of us have used for our entire life.

It appears they changed out the lables a while back. I remember thinking it was odd that they went from a really decent looking label to a cheap, generic looking label they are using today. When the labels switched I though the mayo did too but it had not ( at least not yet ).

It seems to be that they got folks used to a new label and then started phasing it in to stores thinking we might not notice. Well I got my first jar of it the other day and noticed on the first taste. I thought it was spoiled. Another taste and I thought Miracle Whip. What I finally determined was this is a light version of Miracle Whip. I personally dislike Miracle Whip, hence my reason for buying mayonnaise. They are not the same thing.

Please write or call the company and get out real stuff back. There are too many things changing in the world as it is. Some things are just good the way they are and don't need changed.

Kraft has a fishy flavor to me. I prefer Hellman's..

We heard this a while back on this website. Thanks for the reminder. I've been picking up a brand called Hellman's or Sauer's. I've not had a problem with either brand but they might not be available in your area. I don't know yet why Kraft decided to change their mayo. I had bought that product for years.

Sauer's is good too, and the price is much better than Kraft around here.

Switch to Miracle Whip. It's been the same great taste for years

Does anyone know what exactly they changed? I usually buy Hellmans, but have been known to grab Kraft if its on sale.

Miracle Whip is salad dressing! I never met anyone who used it that way, but isn't that what it says on the bottle?

I like both mayo and miracle whip but they is two different animules..

raven, I dunno what they changed..I grew up with the stuff but now it has a slight fishy oily taste to it. I should say that in my family, its just me that gets that aftertaste from it.

I've alwasy substitued Mayo with Miracle Whip...but when I do use Mayo, it's always been Hellmanns...I don't like the chuncky look of Hellmanns, but when I use it for potato salad or Mac salad, I always use half Hellmanns and half Miracle Whip.

I looooove Waldorf Salad!

I was raised with Miracle whip, and can't stomach that white axle grease they call mayonnaise. I agree, mayo and Miracle Whip are not the same thing. Miracle Whip has half the fat and one third the calories of mayo. It also has a much better flavor.

Agreed Starlord

Mayo only has two ingredients... how different can it be?

I agree with the OP, Kraft mayo has tasted funky to me for months now. I used to buy either that or Best Foods (called Hellman's in the east), whichever one was on sale, but now all I buy is Best Foods. Most store brands are nasty so they're out. I like Miracle Whip, but only with tuna.

Hmmm....went grocery shopping this morning, needed mayo for potato salad ( memorial day picnic YUM). Kraft was on sale, a LOT less expensive than Hellmans. Any other day, I would have bought the Kraft without a thought, due to the sale.

Thanx to this review and many of you backing it up, I decided on the Hellmans.

Sorry, C2O, MissMarple doesn't buy Kraft. Sauers, all the way.

Looks like I'll stick to Sauers and Hellman's.
